Random questions for moms of toddlers...
1. When did/will you give your LO a pillow?
2. How much milk does your LO drink per day? How about water? Do you limit the amount of fluid you give your LO? I ask this because I think my child is part camel. She drinks about 24 oz of milk and 24 oz of water a day and I swear she would drink more if I gave it to her. Is this a normal amount?
TIA
Re: Random questions for moms of toddlers...
1. Over the summer I picked up a toddler pillow at Ikea so over 1.5. I would have done it sooner but I hadn't gotten to Ikea. Next time I go I'm going to pick up one of the .99 reg ones for him. He loves the pillow!
2. About the same. He has 3 8oz cups of milk a day and water or juice whenever he asks or throws a cup in my general direction.
1. Domenic still does not use a pillow at night. We tried giving him a pillow pet and he just covers his face with it.
2. He drinks 2 8 oz cups of milk a day. One in the morning when he wakes up and during breakfast, and he drinks his second cup for dinner. He gets his 3rd dairy serving from other sources such as cheeses, yogurts, etc. He gets juice (V8 Fusion, with the veggie serving and fruit serving, 100% juice) mid morning or mid afternoon, and we only allow 1 8 oz cup of juice just cause of the sugar content. The rest of the day he drinks water. We always keep a sippy of water around in the playroom and he just drinks it on demand whenever he wants it. I don't think at his age the fluids need to be monitored closely at all. I would let her drink all the water she wants, its the healthiest option for her. I would just double check on the 24 oz of milk amount with your pedi because ours said 16....
they both started with a travel size pillow a little over a year- maybe 15 mos?
i wish my girls drank more milk... the do ok, but not great. sometimes they have oj fortified with calicium. they drink a TON of water. they want water over anything else.
liam has used a pillow for at least 6 mos now. its just a very thin reg size one.
my pedi said 16 to 24 oz of milk was all they should have, i try to stick to that. water the rest of the day and nothing after dinner. he has no interest in juice.
p has maybe 20 oz. of milk a day. she is on 2% now per our pedi. she gets juice watered down when she asks us for it and maybe has no more than 10 oz. of it all day.
as far a a pillow she started using one at 20 months after we went to visit some friends and took a liking to one of the pillows on their couch....they sent her home with it lol. it is the perfect size for her though. gotta make a note to replce it someday
Thanks ladies! I'm feeling better about my little camel.
Cam's pedi said 16 - 24 oz as well. She also said we could switch to 1% as soon as we wanted to (we switched a few weeks ago with no problem).
We gave Ethan a pillow when he moved into a toddler bed, maybe 20 months old. I started him off with a rather flat, already broken in one, lol.
For milk, he has a cup of milk with each meal and any other time has a half and half juice/water combo. He doesn't have anything to drink for the past couple of months since he's been wearing underwear at night, just in case!
1. DS got a pillow a month or two before he moved into a bed, so around 25 months I think? We'll probably do around the same for DD (she will be 1 on Wednesday).
2. He's 3 now, but he drinks probably around 12-16oz of milk a day, plus maybe 12 oz of water; it varies each day though.
