They're closing my gym!!!

I am so bummed. There are 2 locations for the gym I go to; one is in walking distance from our house, the other is less than a mile from work. I always liked to do my Saturday workouts at the one close to home because I can go in there and stay for 60-90 minutes and it's right down the street.

Now, I need to change up my workout schedule for the week and do my long workouts after work because I have no desire to drive over there on the weekend. It's only about a 15 minute drive, but I see enough of that area durng the week, and compared to a 2 minute drive, it just stinks know what I mean?

My mom works out there too and she's really upset because she's 70 years old and refuses to drive 20-25 minutes to go to the gym and do 1 round on the machines (she walks outside every day & hates the treadmill). Hopefully they'll let her out of her contract. I like the gym, the ladies (it's a womens' gym) and the equipment so I have no problem going after work but I'm gong to have to make sure I do crock pot meals on the night I pick for long workouts.

After my contract is up next October I may look into a family membership at our YMCA. That way Amanda can go with us too.

Ugh, that sucks... I'm sorry! My "gym" is closed too... haha, I'm being silly. It's just that my friend (who is also pregnant) and I like to walk around the neighborhood near work at lunchtime, and we haven't been able to because of the weather. Stick out tongue

I hope you find a solution that works almost as good as what you lost!

At least during the week I can still go to the one by my work but I'm just going to walk outside on weekends now. Hopefully I won't have to wait for equipment at the AP gym - not sure how busy it'll be.

Oh man that really stinks! It's hard enough to get motivated sometimes even when the gym is right down the street. Maybe once you get used to it it won't be as bad as you think but the idea of joining the Y instead sounds great. We have a family membership @ our local gym & SD goes with us some. She acctually likes going & its good that she can get the extra exercise. It's a great family bonding activity.
