The Official "let's complain about downtown construction" thread
If this is not over soon, I am going to go ballistic. It is now nearly impossible for me to get to my parking space. I have started car pooling with the hubs again but I do not get along with his craptastic driving. I love the new signs they have installed to direct traffic - most of them are completely wrong. I got a "downtown traffic advisory" email and I swear to God, it was three pages long of lane/road closures and reading it was worse than reading the FASB.

As I'm driving to my craptastic parking garage, I reach Dean McGee and put my "go to hell" face on, because...
1. Some of those construction workers try to direct traffic and have no idea what they're doing. I almost had a bobcat run into me as he was driving around a corner too fast on mud and slid in my direction. Would the construction worker standing in the middle of the street tell me whether to go or stop? No, he just stood there, hands down, staring at me. Really?
2. When the light is green, construction workers will continue to direct traffic telling their own vehicles to stop or go with absolutely NO direction to the traffic that has the right of way. I'm happy to stop to allow some big piece of machinery to get through, but just communicate that to me instead of having me guess whether I need to go or stop.
3. As I was walking down Harvey (a one way street), a car going the wrong direction asked where she needed to go to sign her divorce papers. Heck if I know and the only thing that came out of my mouth was "you're going the wrong way down this street." She muttered, "OH ***!" and drove off. I know I made her day. Whoops.
