How many of the Oscar-nominated movies have you seen?

And what did you think of them? It's probably unreasonable to think I can see them all before the awards, isn't it? I just watched The Kids Are All Right and oh my gosh, it was good. Totally gets to you. Definitely tissue worthy.

As a reminder, the other ones nominated:

  • Black Swan
  • The Fighter
  • Inception
  • The Kids Are All Right
  • The King's Speech
  • 127 Hours
  • The Social Network
  • Toy Story 3
  • True Grit
  • Winter's Bone
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

Re: How many of the Oscar-nominated movies have you seen?

  • What's a movie?  I seem to remember once upon a time going to dark rooms, sitting still and not doing anything for a few hours.  Those days are GONE!

Seriously! We seemed to have stopped watching them once we got married -- and you have kids!

  • Only one! Inception. I've got some watching to do.
  • None yet but I plan to see Black Swan and Inception at least. But I'm sure I won't see them before the Oscars.
  • I saw Inception only because I bought it for DH for our anniversary. Otherwise we will add it to Netflix and maybe we'll see it in two years. I miss having two salaries...and time. Sad
  • The Fighter Inception

The Fighter was very good but Christian Bale really made the movie for me. He was incredible. We loved Inception. It was so different and fascinating. And who doesn't love Leo? Big Smile

We're planning on seeing Black Swan or The King's Speech this weekend.

ETA: I forgot that we watched True Grit. Tim loved it, I played online through most of it. Not my favorite.

  • None. We really never go to the movies...we wait for them to come out On Demand.

  • I've seen inception, social network, toy story 3. We're going to see a movie tonight - either the fighter, the king's speech, or black swan...I'm definitely leaning towards the fighter. I really really want to see the kids are alright.

    • True Grit
    • Winter's Bone

We saw Four!  That's AWESOME for us!  And we have two more (The Kids and Winter's Bone) here right now -rented from Netflix.  And a friend has said she could get us the hookup on a couple more so by the time the Oscars roll around we may possibly have seen most if not all of them!  That's quite a big deal b/c we hardly even get out to the movies anymore.  It helps that one was a kid's movie, I think.  ;)

  • I've seen 6, and I'l try to see all of them before the awards. Inception: eh, too bizarre for me. I didn't care for it much.Social Network: Good, but not as great as I thought it would be. I was surprised by all that went on if it really did in the history of FB.Black Swan: amazing. I thought this movie was so so good. Natalie Portman did such a great job of being a whack-a-do.The Fighter: Loved it! Christian Bale did such a great job and all the women in it were so good-ridiculous but good. True Grit: Hilarious-Jeff Bridges is freakin funny, I loved Matt Damon's character, and Haylie Stanfield was so good for such a young girl. I loved the dynamics of all the characters. The King's Speech: such a great story, and no violence, no sex, just great characters, loved Geoffrey Rush so much in that movie. I'm on my phone so sorry if the formatting sucks!
  • We've seen:

    Inception (liked a lot)

The Kids Are Alright (Mark Ruffalo=HOT)

    Toy Story 3 (Very Cute)

True Grit (Not what I expected, but all right)

I really want to see Black Swan, The Fighter and The King's Speech. We'll see which of these we actually see before the Oscars.

  • We saw Inception, Social Network, and Toy Story 3. The only movie we saw in theaters was Toy Story 3. Inception and Social Network were from Redbox.

Yes-He's LeBeouf and he's freakin funny!

  • Wow, 5 I can't believe it!

We've seen Black Swan (loved), Inception (enjoyable), The Social Network (enjoyable, interesting), Toy Story 3 (not as good as I had hoped for. Definitely not on par with UP), and True Grit (enjoyable and fun).

We plan on seeing The King's Speech, 127 hours and the Kids are alright, soon.

  • We just saw Black Swan and have one word: Wow. It was so intense and I loved Natalie Portman. Fantastic movie.

I also forgot that we saw Toy Story 3 this summer with my nephew and while it was awesome and really cute, I don't quite see it as Best Picture material.

  • Two more today! We saw the fighter in the theater (we're up in Tahoe), and rented the kids are alright for tonight. Woot!

  • Wow, I've only seen Toy Story 3 and The Social Network.

I thought Toy Story 3 was great. I thought The Social Network had good acting but I wasn't impressed with the story. I mean, who wants to see a guy that comes off as a total jerk become a billionaire? Not this girl.

ETA: Ooops, I lied. We saw Inception and I thought it was incredible. Totally blew my mind and I had Inception dreams for a couple of weeks (which was actually really cool, I can see the appeal Stick out tongue)

  • I've seen Black Swan (most disturbing moving EVER), Inception (Good, but DH fell asleep, lol), The Kids are All Right (definitely did NOT live up to the hype), Toy Story 3 (bawled my eyes out) and True Grit (FANTASTIC).

The Social Network is in the queue for this week and I am dying to see The King's Speech and The Fighter.

Don't know if I can handle 127 Hours. Never heard of Winter's Bone (off to read about it).

50% isn't bad for me, especially with 4 weeks to go!

  • I saw Black Swan - Absolutely loved it.

Inception - I loved this one too. Very intriguing.

The Social Network - I liked this one too. It sucks what he did though.

Toy Story 3 - I have seen parts of this one. Cute but not really the type of movie I really enjoy.

I would like to see The Fighter, The Kings Speeck and True Grit though.

  • For having kids I think I've done pretty good. I've seen three: Black Swan, The Social Network, and Toy Story 3. Loved them all! I think of the rest I'm only interested in Inception - but that's because I haven't really heard a whole lot about the others.
