I am going to murder someone.

So let me start this by saying, yes, i know i live in an apt. and No, i am not a prude.

Ok. Storytime.

We have a couple new girls who have moved in downstairs from us.  Well, i say a couple girls, but really, it's 2 girls and about 4 different guys in and out of the apartment at all hours of the day. (i'm talking 3-4am)  They have to be the LOUDEST people i've ever met in my life.  They slam doors.  Scream.  Have their TV at MAX all day everyday.  Parties at all hours-last night it was 4:23am and they were pumping music and screaming.  and now for the fun part.  She is the loudest person having sex EVER.  i mean EEEEEEEEEEEEEVER!  I can hear every Oh God, Right There, Oh Baby that comes out of her mouth.  and it's at the most odd times of day.  10am.  2 nights ago was 3:24am  and JUST NOW  in their living room.

Paul and i were watching TV and all of sudden he mutes it, and there she is, screaming like a hyena.  I could hear the couch hitting the wall.  I couldn't take it.  I stomped on the floor like an old lady.  she was silent for maybe 4 minutes, then started again and i just screamed at the top of my lungs SHUT THE F*CK UP!

I am going insane!!  the building is smoke free, they smoke up a storm, cigs and weed IN THE HALLWAY!!

and who i really feel bad for, is the people under them.  2 small kids.  ages 4 and 1.  How do you explain that to a child??

I called the office on Friday and she was going to send them a letter cause apparently we are the 3rd complaint.

Ok rant over.  I just really needed to get that out.

Re: I am going to murder someone.

  • Oh my goodness. I think I would pitch a fit. Honestly, good for her for having a fab sex life, but the whole apartment complex doesn't need to know it.

Hopefully the office hurries the eff up and does something. But a letter? Oooooh shaking in my boots.

    Freaking horny ass people.

    :P

  • OH MY LORD! Hopefully something gets done! That would drive me INSANE!
  • When i called she did say to wait til Tuesday to let them get the letter, then after that if it happens again, to call the office know.

All the neighbors in this building are all talking about them.  no one can take it.  we only have 10 units in my building (we are set up like condos really) and it was a super quiet building until them.

Hey listen, i'm all for "knockin' the boots" but shut up!!  nothing like eating dinner to the sounds of people having sex.

  • the joys of apartment living, right? there's nothing more awkard than hearing other people have sex. i'm guessing her roommate is out tonight if she's shagging some dude in the living room?

i can just see a four year old waking up and asking mom & dad "what's that noise?!"

i hope she is tired out soon so you guys can get some sleep tonight!

  • Next time she has people over i'm going to just tap them on the shoulder and say "watch where you sit, cuase his naked ass was there last night"

Yes maybe ask if he finds hyenas sexy too? ;)

i've lived in apartments for most of my adult life and there is just a certain consideration you must have for your neighbors. end.of.story.

    LMAO!

Sorry you are dealing with this - I'm glad the office is being responsive!  I can't imagine being *that person*.  What on earth is she thinking??

  • I've complained about late night parties to the apartment management and even the police (when your migraine is pounding to the same boom-boom-boom rhythm as the bass in the techno music being blasted by a neighbor since 11pm, and it's approaching 5am with no end in sight, you bet your @ss I'm calling the cops!). I think most municipalities have a noise ordinance, designating the hours from about 10pm until 7am as "quiet hours". Maybe check to see what the ordinance is in your town (at least when it comes to loud parties). But, as a renter, with the noise coming from another tenant, you also have the right to quiet enjoyment under most leases, and at common law. Since you've already contacted the landlord/office about this, you were definitely in the right to do so!!

Smoking in a smoke-free building?! Personally, I'm allergic, and I'd go ripsh!t if I had to put up with that. I wouldn't put up with it. I'd be knocking on their door, or sending a letter, and definitely complaining to my landlord about it. Not cool. You're renting this place, and you knew it was smoke-free, so why are you smoking in the building? Idiot.

But the sex thing??? I've experienced what you described once. Thank god it was only once. I had an upstairs neighbor when I was living in the DC area who had a late night booty call. I heard the slam of the door as they entered the apartment. Then, the running footsteps and shrieks as she was tossed onto the bed. One shoe was removed and thrown against the window. A second shoe hit the closet. A lamp crashed. And, then it was marathon sex. I was studying... well, trying to study. I just ended up staring at the ceiling as I heard every moan, every bedspring squeak, every orgasm (yes, there were multiple!). They finally quieted down about three hours later. Again, I was just staring at the ceiling, and praying that it would hold! Honestly, I was blushing because it sounded like I was right in the room with them.

My roommate hadn't heard a thing (apparently, she's the soundest sleeper ever!). But, she told me if it ever happened again, that I had to wake her up. Thank goodness it was a huge apartment complex and I had no clue who that neighbor actually was. I don't think I could have looked her in the eye after that night.

Never told my roommate that I'd heard her on more than one occasion... well, actually her boyfriend was the louder party to their sexcapades. But, the walls were pretty thin between our bedrooms! It still wasn't as loud as my upstairs neighbor though.

Hopefully your neighbors will respect the others who are living in the building once they receive the letter from the apartment management. They might not be aware that they are truly that disruptive. I hope they're reasonable about it in the future.

  • Well lets just say, round 2 just finished.  i can't wait until tuesday so as soon as i hear anything or smell the smoke i can call the office.

these people have even been stealing the newspaper of the elderly couple across the hall from us!  she's been staying up til 3:30am to grab the paper before they do.  I mean come on dude, how sad are you, stealing an 81 year old's paper??
