fringe blankets

for those of you who have made these...

i made a several for christmas gifts and the ties keep coming apart which is no biggie really since you can just tie it back up, but it's starting to get annoying. is there something i can do to keep them tied longer? ive thought of a double knot, but didn't know if i was possibly missing something else....so i've come to the experts, you all!

I?ve done the double knot thing and it still comes out, I think because when I cut the fringes I make them to short, so maybe cut the fringes longer and skinnier. I know it?d be a pain in the butt but if you took needle and thread and knotted them off that way. But kind of defeats the purpose of the fringe blanket.

Hmmm. I haven't had this happen too often with all the ones I have made over the course of years. They do tend to loosen up after many washings, but I guess maybe I tie them REALLY tight, so perhaps I just get out of some of the issues b/c of that. Sorry, I guess I'm not much help since I don't generally have that problem with the ones I make. Good luck, I hope someone else has an idea to help.

I've only made 3 so far, but my fringes were long and I double knotted them. I do have one I got as a gift a few years ago, where the girl cut a horizontal cut on both fleece panels, then wove the knot thru the whole. That blanket won't come undone ever, but I'm sure it was three times the work...
