Can you buy dishwasher replacement parts?

Like new rolling baskets you put your dishes in and new filament or whatever the round metal thing at the bottom is? If so where would you get it and any idea how much it'd be or better to replace whole dishwasher?

Re: Can you buy dishwasher replacement parts?

  • I am curious too, as the metal round thingy on mine is starting to rust.
  • This is precisely why I just replaced my dishwasher. All of the prongs in the baskets were rusting and breaking off. The replacement baskets for my Whirlpool were more than $50.00 each to replace. My dishwasher was over 10 years old, so I just bought a new one.

You can search your dishwasher companies website for replacement parts, but be prepared for Sticker shock.

  • Yes you can buy parts, my DH sells appliance parts locally.  They are pretty expensive for dishwashers though, so you might want to replace the whole thing.
  • I've used repairclinic.com before. You'll need your model # to find the right part.

If it's just the prongs on the basket, you can buy plastic "paint" for them at home depot  so they won't rust (or to cover rust).
