Zumba Ladies

I went to a Zumba class for the first time tonight.  Holy H*ll, that was difficult.  I am so uncoordinated and had a pretty hard time keeping up.  The fact that I hid in the back of the room and couldn't really see the instructor probably had a lot to do with it.  The music was fun, fast and loud.  I'll definitely be going back again.  I needed to find something that would keep me involved during my workout and this might be it.

So when you were a newbie to Zumba, how long did it take before you actually felt like you caught on?

And how much will I be hurting tomorrow?

Four classes before I actually liked it versus just making myself go for the workout.  A month before I wasn't embarrassed to be not at the very back of the class.  Three before I felt like I was pretty darn good.

You shouldn't be too sore tomorrow.  :)

  • Luvvy and I went for the first time tonight too. I consider myself a fairly coordinated person and I got some rhythm/moves...but I found myself lost! Haha. We also stuck to the back of the class and decided it may be a better plan to be closer to the teacher. I thought it was fun, the hour goes quickly. I'll definitely go again. I think I will enjoy it even more once I get the moves down.

  • Ditto LB on it being more enjoyable once you know the steps. It's also a better workout once you know the steps. I remember when we first started going, and I noticed that every time I went, I started sweating sooner and sooner. haha

  • Ha!  I think I did just okay last night.  Some of the steps were like whaaaat?  I'm sure I looked like a flailing flopping fish, but whatever.  It was fun.  I'm surprised that I'm not too sore today.  That makes me happy.

  • Im excited to try it Tuesday night, but Im disappointed that yall aren't that sore.  I always feel like my workout wasnt good enough if Im not sore the next day.

  • Well, to be honest it seems dolfinn and I have both been working out before this, so maybe that has something to do with it.  That and it was hard to really get into it because I was lost most of the time.

Ditto!  I felt like I did get a workout last night and I know it will be that much better when I know the moves though.  No, I'm not sore from it, but I've been working my booty off for a week, so that is probably why.

  • Do any of the Tallahassee girls do Zumba? I really want to try it. Was wondering if anyone had any places they wanted to recommend.
