Paint and a cleaning question

I want to paint my living room a taupe color. All of the walls in my living room are off-white except one accent wall, which is this color:

What color primer do you think I should use? A white?

Also, ladies who have fake wood floors (i.e. pergo), what do you use to clean your floors?

I would just use a white primer if you're going to paint it taupe color overtop.

I borrowed my mom's steam mop from my parent's condo and um, haven't returned it yet, lol! Embarrassed I use water and vinegar in it.

I would use a white primer. The paint with primer in it is pretty good too. But I used that on off-white walls that I was painting gray. I can't speak of how it will cover the blue and not show through the taupe.

We only use Sherwin Williams paint and we've never primed before. The paint always seems to do a good job of covering up the color. But, for a wall that color, I would definitely prime. I believe they are usually white, aren't they?

For our floors, I just bought a contraption that looks like a swiffer, but has a microfiber cloth attached to the bottom. We can use that to "sweep" and then spritz it with vinegar/water to "mop". And the cloth is washable for reuse.

Primers can be various colors. When I painted my bedroom red I used a gray primer. I believe Alicia used a pink primer for her red walls.

I do remember the pink primer now that you bring it up. Shows how much I know about priming. Drew's the painter, I'm the supervisor! I actually don't like cleaning with vinegar. The smell gets to me. But there are a ton of people who do.

I love vinegar and water. It's also good to use since you are pregnant and there's no crazy chemicals. I've heard you weren't supposed to use those steam mops on Pergo, something to do with the space between the slats. However, I'm sure a lot of people use them.

Definitely white primer. It should cover the best when going from a darker to a somewhat lighter shade. I think my friend says she likes the Eureka Enviromaster or something.

we always used a white primer any time we pained. Valspar.
