I know most of you saw this on FB last night, but I'm so happy for him Ill repeat it. LOL
Out of the 43 general managers in the Maryland franchise my DH was named manager of the year!! His cafe is the 2nd busiest cafe in the country!! His annual sales are over 4 million dollars!! That just blows my mind that you can make that type of money off of bagels, coffee, salads and sandwiches. He works his ass off so, I am happy that he is being recognized for all of his hard work.
Currently there are 43 cafes in MD. They are all owned by one franchise. This franchise just bought the sole rights to opening stores in Delaware. The first will open some time this year and its going to be in Christiana (Northern Delaware about 75mins from our house). H has been toying around with the idea of throwing his name into the hat to be the manager that opens that store. In hope that if he does great with that store they'll promote him to district manager. Well last night after he got his award all the big wigs in the company kept throwing around the word "Christiana". Im very excited and nervous. This would be a big move for us and a big risk. I really really want to move away from Baltimore and this would be the chance. I dont know that we would move to DE but we would definitely move further up 95 (North East or Elkton for you MD girls).
It was a big night for us and hopefully it will lead to a big year for us!!
Re: AW: So proud of my husband
wow that's awesome!! congrats h!
a move would be exciting! would you be able to work out there?
i know the franchise your h works for. can you tell him to build one in olney? kthanxbai
So I'm not counting my eggs before they hatch, but... I am hoping that if we moved to North East. I could stay at the hospital I am at. I really dont want to start over again. I love my manager and I love my position in the NICU. North East would be about a 45-50 min drive to work for me and about 20-25 min drive to Christian for H. Since I only work 3 days a week in my head that sounds do able. Now if we looked at Elkton that would be closer to and hr or more commute for me. When I graduated college I applied to Christian Hospital. I was offered a job but I declined it b/c the hospital was so big it scared me. LOL So yeah I have choices.
Hmmm I'm surprised there isnt one in Olney. When his highness gets up today Ill ask if they are opening any stores in MD this year. I dont think they are b/c they are focusing on DE this year, but I could be wrong.
You've seen them with drive-thrus????
Done.
Thanks everyone!
MD- Germantown got a couple of awards last night.
Congrats! and good luck!
That's exciting news!! Congrats!
That is so exciting!!!! I think I'd love to move away from Baltimore/Annapolis/DC and what a chance! Congrats to your DH.
In Alaska, everything has a drive-thru. There are drive-thru coffee huts every 20 feet (seriously, over 900 in Anchorage alone. You are never without coffee or hot drinks and you don't have to get out of your car), Subways, etc. They don't have Panera there though...You should ask your DH to suggest that, they would do well.
Haha. I wish there was a Panera drive-thru close to us. I would weigh 700 lbs. I LOVE their mac & cheese!
Our newest Panera has a drive thru. Ehh... when I got to Panera I like to sit and relax. LOVE the french onion soup and turkey bacpn bravo...and the asiago cheese bagels...and the hot chocolate...and mint chocolate crinkles (is this just a holiday thing?) I could go on and on...
.*. We come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by finding an imperfect person perfectly .*.
Thanks everyone!!
I asked him about the whole drive thru bit and he said none of the stores in MD have them. Then he said but my store would make crazy amounts of money if we did (uh they already make crazy amounts of money) and then in the next breath he said but what a nightmare that would be. He said that he thinks the store they will open in Rehobeth Beach, DE will have a drive thru.
