Well..
I went to the Dr. today and I am most defininately having a baby. I am estimated to be about 7 1/2 weeks and the estimated due date is sept 17th! Once everything has sank in and I have had a chance to think about it, I am getting pretty excited and I think H is starting to come around. This past weekend we had to move some furniture and he refused to let me lift anything except some dresser drawers and the clothes. Of course he is convinced it is going to be a boy and he is a huge star wars fan so he wants to name him luke just so he can say "Luke I am your father" all the time lol. Ever since he said that joke I have been in love with the name Lucas lol so I think we already might have a boy's name picked out

Paula, I am glad to hear that you and DH are coming around and starting to get excited about this little blessing. I also like the name Lucas. Hope you have a happy and healthy 9 mos.
Aw, yay! I'm so happy for you. Your husband sounds like such a sweetheart too, already taking care of the mother of his child!
I'm so glad the shock has worn off and you have a chance to finally be happy about it without stressing. You guys are going to be great parents, I just know it.
So here's to a happy and healthy 9 months!

Wow, congrats! I guess this is one of those "everything happens for a reason" things, and I'm glad you're now happy about it. I'm sure your mom will come around even if she's a little upset originally, I mean, it's not like you're some 16 year old HS student. As soon as she holds that baby in her arms she'll be fine.
I love the name Lucas, by the way. Some very close friends of ours adopted a baby rather suddenly last year (they found out they were matched the day he was born) and I helped them pick the name by looking at babynames.com while talking to them on the phone.... Lucas Henry. And he's really really cute so I have a great association with that name.

Paula I wonder if you're concerned about your mom's reaction, could you tell her (and your dad?) together alone, then tell other family members i.e. siblings etc. That way your mom and you can discuss any concerns openly and without the other members throwing in their two cents.
And totally ditto Lori about especially once she holds the baby in her arms I'm sure she'll be excited!! Lots of happy vibes for when you tell everyone ::::hugs:::
