Weather boo.
So we've been pretty lucky and have avoided most of the crappy winter weather so far this season. It seems that all you east coast girls have gotten the brunt of it.
Knocking on wood didn't seem to help as we're expecting close to 2 feet between no and Wednesday morning with 55mph winds and snow drifts upwards of 5-10 FEET! The blizzard watches are in place ... I am crossing my fingers for a snow day, but I now that there is basically no chance for that with my work.

We have no where to put anymore snow. In and around Boston many side streets are down to a single lane. The snow banks at the end of our driveway are so tall that we're not sure if our snow blower will be able to throw the snow high enough.
I'm not looking forward to when all this snow melts. We'll need canoes to get around this spring.
I can believe it! We've had some pretty crazy snowfalls in the past few winters where we felt the same way! It was a nice break this winter until now!
I still remember a spring break in college where we traveled to Breckenridge and it was pretty warm (60's / 70's in march) and in 2 days over 6 feel of snow fell, it was ridiculous ... I couldn't imagine that melt!
We got almost 17 inches with our last storm, but luckily not a ton of wind. My work never closes, ever, but I had to cancel class the next day because they didn't plow our street until almost 3 pm (class was at 1:30, and my commute is 65 minutes on a good day), and we couldn't get Brendan's car out (mini cooper) which was blocking mine - our driveway is only the width of one car. He couldn't go to work but they let him work from home. Next time we know to park my car behind! They're usually so good with plowing that it isn't an issue, so we didn't even think about it.
2012 Reading Challenge
Oh wow, that's too bad! I can see where it would be hard to get a mini out of that though, not that it isn't powerful enough (because it certainly is) but it's so low to the ground! We're the same way (1 car width for the driveway) and I get home first so Matt is always behind me, but he has summer tires and it's a manual so it's not all that easy to maneuver in the snow.
PS. man that's a long commute! You just made me very thankful for the 10-15 minutes that I have!!
Woah! You could make some great tunnels in those drifts! We're on the border of the storm. We could get 12-20" of snow or just a bunch of ice. We're definitely getting ice today and in to tomorrow. Heavy snow is predicted for Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday night. I'd rather have the snow than the ice. Thank goodness my power lines are burried, leaving me with a much better chance of keeping power!

Haha, that's exactly what I was thinking! We used to make some awesome tunnels when we were kids! The whole neighborhood would and then we would make forts with couches and tables in the snow, etc. and stockpile snowballs for the snow fights later
Ick, I wouldn't want the ice either (well except to take pictures of). I hope you don't have issues with your power either! We'll have to keep an eye on our furnace vents (we have a high efficiency furnace so it vents at the back of our house rather than using our chimney) as I don't want a back up of carbon monoxide! The snow could easily drift up and cover those.
We always park based on who needs to leave first in the morning, and I leave after B on Thursdays, so it is habit.
Remember, my previous commute was from Philly to Baltimore! So this is a couple of hours shorter at least. Also, it makes looking for a job easier because I automatically have a built in tolerance for a long commute. I am very jealous of Brendan's 10-15 minute drive, but at least he does daycare duty now. We bought the house based on his commute because we knew I wasn't going to be at my work forever.

Oh good point! Man I couldn't do that. You're right though, it's good to have experience with because like you said, it's not a deterrent for a potential job. that's nice that you guys can make it work and then share the duties (B w/ daycare) so you don't have to do that too.

Ooh that sucks that you have to drive in it though. If you need a place to stop, seriously, call me! If I am at home, I am only 3-4 minutes off 43 or my work is less than 10 minutes off 43!
