I have a license to practice my job in my state.
It's such a relief when you finish grad school. . .only to realize that you finished the requirements halfway through fall semester, which means you won't really graduate until mid-December. . .and then you need national certification and state licensure before you are truly "finished". It's been 5 years and 5 months since I started grad school, but I'm finally official. whew.
I just got an email saying I'm an officially licensed audiologist in Washington, DC. My boss says that as soon as I get the official paperwork in the mail, she can "process my promotion" from audiology resident to audiologist.
The term "promotion" indicates a pay raise, right? Not just a title change. Boss is being vague on the whole raise thing right now, probably because she doesn't have the final word on money stuff and is still dealing with HR. I'm hopeful.
Regardless, I'm celebrating with DH tonight, and hoping for a snow day tomorrow.
