So I was watching TV this afternoon in my happy blissfully ignorant state when the news broke in with an urgent announcement. We are expected to get 20+" of snow in the next 72 hours. AND the wind chill is going to be around -30* at night.
Yup, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna cry. lol

Re: Y'all I wanna cry
If you have time before it starts go to the store and make sure you have food for a few days. Then I would just stay inside until the temperature went up.
-30? Is that the temperature or the windchill? That's just wrong.

We're supposed to get something like that, too! BUT we also have a flood watch?!?!
"...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A LAKESHORE FLOOD WATCH... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.
NORTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 50 TO 60 MPH POSSIBLE. THESE STRONG WINDS WILL LIKELY RESULT IN WAVES BUILDING TO 14 TO 18 FT... WITH OCCASIONAL WAVES UP TO 25 FT. WAVES OF THIS MAGNITUDE WOULD LIKELY RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT BEACH EROSION AND COASTAL FLOODING. PORTIONS OF LAKE SHORE DRIVE AND OTHER FLOOD PRONE AREAS NEAR THE LAKE WOULD LIKELY EXPERIENCE OVER WASH FROM HIGH WAVES..."
Hopefully you don't get snowed in and I don't get washed away!

OMG Noron, that's awful! I love that they're predicting 18ft waves. Craziness. Seriously though, y'all stay safe.
Sandra, I plan on stopping tonight. I'm running all my errands and stuff today. My only concern is potty training the puppy. Would it be to horrible if I let him potty on the floor for a couple days?! lol Oh, and the wind chill is -30 not the temp. Thank God!

Noron - that's crazy! What is with this winter?! Stay dry if you can.
Eskamo - maybe get one of those puppy patches? I've seen them at Bed Bath & Beyond and maybe a pet store would have them. I wouldn't make any puppy go outside in neg 30 degree temps.

I can't complain too much; it's our first actual bad weather this year. Plus, we're about 3 miles from the lake so we should stay dry. I had never heard of a flood warning of the lake that didn't relate to rain, though! Crazy!
I think a puppy pad is a good idea for Diesel - Panda's right, no puppy should be outside in those temperatures!

Eskamo - definitely use the puppy pads. When we trained our pup on them we used them by the front door, that way whenever she had to potty she would go over to the front door and we knew she had to go. The idea of the bathtub is good too, but I personally wouldn't want a dog taking a dump in my tub because they connect it with the potty pads. lol.
Noron - stay safe! Geez your guys weather seems so crazy!
this weather is starting to get nuts! At least its not just around here...no offense girls haha.
we've already had 5 snow days, and we're looking at another possible 2 this week. once we get the last day of school pushed back to the last day of june, they're taking away our april vacation.
theres so much snow, the snow piles on the side of the roads are as high as SUVs, and so many people are getting into accidents. a student in one town even died because he couldntt reach the stop light button, and tried to cross the street, but couldnt see the cars coming. scary.
