Confession Monday :)

I rarely have confessions on Wednesdays, but I have one today.

IT'S MY LAST WEEK OF WORK!

I'm done on Thursday, taking 1 month of maternity leave before my due date, and I have zero guilt (I did at first, but that's long gone).  I don't even have my usual students this week because the majority of them are on the Yosemite trip, so I have a random mix of students from other classes (who chose not to go on the trip), leaving me with 3 tiny classes and fun/supplemental activities that won't require grading or testing all week.  I get to prepare my classroom for my long-term sub (which is pretty much done already) and ride out the next 4 days.....

I am GLEEFUL!!

Anyone else have a confession to share today?  Did you eat a cupcake for breakfast?  Watch the SAG awards last night and cry for the cast of Modern Family when they won (like I did)?  Join me in my state of guiltlessness, please!

  • Woohoo!

Now that you mention it, I did eat some M&Ms for breakfast.

  • I'm feeling guily!!  FOr the last 4 months. I have started work at 7am. Starting feb first, on mondays I was to come in at noon. I thought today was the first!! My boss said it was no big deal, but I feel dumb, dumb dumb

  • I'm so happy for you!! That means you're getting close and you so deserve time off. My confession: our Christmas tree is still up (obv it's fake) and I have no desire to take it down... Surprise I was denied having one for 6 years so I'm making up for it! Stick out tongue
  • That is awesome.

I took a sick day off today. While I could have worked, I knew today would be a slow day so I am doing some stuff around the house.

FWIW-the medication I am taking for IF is having a side effect on me and I rather sleep and do yoga!

  • I fell down the stairs at home this morning...only three or fours steps...it was at 3am going downstairs to get something for the baby so my DH could stay in bed (sense the guilt trip coming?) but man, my back is aching. It feels like I moved yesterday. Well, the confession is that although it really does hurt, I'm still planning on working it so that I can get a massage from DH tonight and maybe even off some household chores for a day or two because my back hurts. ;)

  • DH is so incredibly cranky. I am not his biggest fan right now. I really want to smack him with a doggy chew toy.
  • I spent tooooo much money at Antropologie on Saturday. Everything was on sale, but it added up. Hubs Was ok with the expense, and it's not like it was charged or anything, but I felt very decadent and guilty about it.

  • I really want a TV for our living room. That would be the 5th TV in our house, and most of the time it's only DH and I here. Plus, I'd want an HD DVR to go with it, which is an extra $16/month. That would be the 3rd HD DVR for the house. Of two people (most of the time).

I'm kind of glad we don't have the money for it. It's sort of embarrassing.

  • As a lark, I applied for a teaching job in Cambria. I saw it on Edjoin (it's a job website for most of California's school districts) and I decided to go for it just for the heck of it. I'm not expecting to get considered but I wouldn't mind teaching on the coast. Especially during the summer! (I know there's no school in the summer but I wouldn't mind teaching during the summer if it was in Cambria!)

Good luck on the job! I am going to be applying soon, too.

Good luck! DH is in the running for a job at CA state parks and he wants to go there (Hearst Castle). Right now we are in Monterey which is still really nice and FYI I have heard that nobody will be getting a pink slip and there will be openings next year...but that's all speculation.

  • I dragged myself to yoga tonight with the promise that I would stop at Friendlys for an ice cream sundae on the way home. Then of course, I felt guilty because I had a great workout so I didn't stop.

I'm still craving the mint cookie sundae though.

Friendly's! Oh, I miss Friendlys (and the upside down cone sundae with a smiley face). No one here knows what it is.

I got really annoyed at dh while we were unloading a couch and a futon from his truck and let him know it. Frankly, he deserved it. If he would just listen to me, he wouldn't be putting dents in the wall and scratches on the step of our new home.

My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

Ditto. Just the other day I was thinking how much I would like to go and get a sundae. I guess that's one more place I need to visit next time I'm home!

  • I know Friendly's! We always went there on our drive from my Grandparent's house in Fairfield, CT to their cabin in Alton Bay, NH! I miss those trips!
