SO I got a gift cert for the Red Door for Xmas. I just booked an appt for a full body massage on Friday.
What should I expect? Do you get completely nakey, keep undies on? Just want to make sure I am well groomed in the appropriate places! LOL! Hey, its winter, hibernation season! LOL!

I've always kept my undies on. They give you plenty of time to get undressed, under the sheets, etc.
Make sure you drink lots of water the day of the massage. Helps remove toxins I believe. And usually they have a glass of water waiting for you at the end

I get naked for massages (I've done regular and prenatal massages). I think it's easier for them to not have to maneuver around things but it's what you're comfortable with. They won't touch or see anything really - you are covered by a sheet at all times and they only expose the parts they are massaging.

I go every 6 weeks. I keep my underwear on but everything else comes off. I would shave the day before; the oils they use to massage you with may irritate your skin if you just shaved. And yes drink lots of water, they will tell you that too.

I keep my underwear on but the last time I went in I had her really work on my glutes because I had a lot of knots in there and my sciatic nerve and sacral-iliac joint were really bothering me. If that is what you are looking for, I would skip the undies this time.
I will say that I am MUCH more comfortable with a female masseuse simply because for some reason I feel like I have to be shaved and perfect for the males hahah! But yeah, shave the day before. Or evening ideally.
Oh AND along the lines of what I just wrote, speak up about what hurts and what doesn't on your body. Let them know of any problem areas, anything that you don't want, if the pressure is too much or too little, etc. I have really noticed a difference in the quality of my massages (ie the lasting benefits) since I started being more vocal in what I was looking for and what helped. Before I would just stay quiet and let them do whatever!
Thanks ladies! Also, since it is at the Biltmore, they valet park, what is the standard tip for a valet? God I am so out of the loop! On the Gift Cert is says gratuity included, does that mean I don't need tip either?

Is it free valet?? If its free, I would tip $5. If its not free $2.
Hmmm, even though it says gratuity included, I would maybe give $10 on top of it....if they accept tips. Sometimes places include tips in the price of a massage because the therapists aren't allowed to accept tips...
