missing my rings :(

after moths of my debating on whetever to get rings sodered together i found my self down the street from jewelers so i said what the heck and dropped them off. i have had at least 10 mini panic attacks today when i went to flip my ring around and they were not there.suppose to pick them up tomorrow @ 4 but we are suppose to get a crazy snow strom so i dont know if they will be open.

has anyone else got your ring sodered together ??

Re: missing my rings :(

  • When I first read this, I thought you were saying you were MISSING your rings, as in you lost them!  I'm glad you didn't!

I have not had my rings sodered together and probably won't bother with it.  They fit comfortably on my finger as they are.  I think they would actually be harder to get off my finger as one piece rather than seperately?

  • No, didn't get mine soldered, but took them to get re-dipped shortly after HM and I missed them so much.  It was only for a few days but I still missed them.

  • i didn't get mine soldered because eventually we're going to upgrade my ering and didn't want that to mess up my wedding band.

i badly need to get my ering re-dipped, but all the stores i've called said it takes a week and im dragging my feet since i dont want to go w/o my ering...my band just looks so lonely w/o it!

  • I didn't get mine soldered just because I can wear my wedding band by itself if I want.

I do desperately need to get my e-ring redipped but I don't want to part with it. They just match so well. I do need to do it though so maybe in the next couple of weeks...

  • I have not but my E-ring doesn't fit so I need to have it sized. I have also been dragging my feet getting it done because I don't want to be without it

  • ok so since re-dipping has been brought up
what do you guys think is the better option...

get both rings done at the same time OR just go get the ering done now and then the band whenever that needs to be done

it costs about $40 a ring from any store around here

  • I had mine soldered together and redipped about a week before the wedding, then just didn't wear them again until after the ceremony. Mine came as a set, so they sort of needed to be put together b/c the wedding band fits into the e-ring. We may get an anniversary band someday that I'll wear behind my ring now. I don't think it's' thicker' our harder to get of as one, but like I said, mine was made to be soldered together.

I'm only going to get my e-ring redipped. My rings also came from two different stores (long story) and it's only $25 to get my e-ring dipped and I don't think my wedding band needs it yet but I probably just can't tell if it does or not.

  • I have a lifetime warranty on the E-ring so re-dipping, resizing, etc are done at no charge.  Glad we paid the extra $ for the warranty.

  • mine also came as a set. the band has an indent were the diamond sits together so they go well into each other. i wasnt going to get them sodered but my band is always backwards. i have very very tiny hand and couldnt get it sized down any smaller without cutting into stones. so im hoping putting them together stops the problem. my E ring dosent flipped complety around cause diamond stops it
  • oh and ive had my ring dipped once, they will prob do both of them again since they are there. since i bought rings from them and have had reg checks on it there is no charge for dipping or soder :) free is always good
  • our rings came from overstock.com

the only drawback of getting them online was that we can't pop into the store and get them resized or dipped for free Tongue Tied

  • I had mine soldered right after the HM.  They were not a set and spun independently on my hand and I hated that.  Also, the band came w/ a protection plan which includes cleaning, redipping etc.  Once they were soldered, that plan automatically includes the e-ring, so it's a two-fer deal.

Jen-if I were you, I would probably just do them both at once so they will look good together.  You don't want the e-ring in one color and the band in another...

thats what i was leaning towards.
everytime i'd ask don what he thought he just gave me a *shrug* and my mom had no clue what redipping was.  you ladies keep me sane!

  • I had mine put together a week before the wedding and I absolutely love it. No spinning! The rings were made to fit together (slight curve in the w-band) and before I had them soldered they never lined up the right way and kept shifting. I have no desire to wear them separately so it was a good choice for me.
