Aspen Dental

Anyone have any experience with them?  DH went there for the first time yesterday and they wanna do all this expensive, ridiculous work on him.  I looked them up on the Internet and, other than their website, all I could really find was negative reviews.

Re: Aspen Dental

  • Always get a second and third opinion on dental work. I wish I had known this way back when...

They are a chain dental company. I would not go there.

  • DH called his previous dentist and he agreed with the negative reviews.  DH just found out that the previous dentist takes his insurance, so he's going there instead.  Thanks!

  • I've never worked with or heard anything about Aspen Dental.

The only places I've went to in my adult life are Gentle Dental: Burlington and Chelmsford. Burlington is fine, not outstanding but not bad. They did cancel on me a few times because the hygienist had to leave. [:-P] I stopped making appointments for that day of the week. I transferred to Chelmsford because it is closer to my house (Burlington was closer to my parents' house where I lived after college, before moving in with DH).

Anyways, to make a long story short, I've only been to Chelmsford once but I had a really good experience. The hygienist and dentist were very gentle (no pun intended) and I didn't bleed or feel sore at all. And always bleed, a lot! They used a water pik rather than the traditional pik and it was so much better. I'd highly recommend a place that uses a water pik.

  • AVOID! Their dentists are considered contractors, and as such, "Aspen Dental" will NOT stand behind any work done by contracted dentists.

My very silly husband went there (Framingham- no longer open) not realizing it was a chain and had a bad experience. They rushed him through and actually neglected to clean a quarter of his mouth! (he was having a deep clean- that's typically done in quarters)

Also, If they did X-rays, be sure to get originals, not photo copies. Photo copies are diagnostically irrelevant, and X-rays will need to be repeatedSad. And they might try to get a copy fee from you. Don't pay it. Its unethical and against ADA guidelines.

    In Brookline, I really <3 Dr.Zawell

    Good Luck

Thanks for this!  DH actually found out his previous dentist will take his insurance, so he's going there, but he needs to get his x-rays and records.  They're charging him $5.
