It snowed so hard that.....

snow pushed under our front door and is in our entry way.  I am not a happy camper.

Also, DH is desperate for some coffee so just left to go to the 7-11.  If he gets into an accident I am not going out there to help him.  Embarrassed

Re: It snowed so hard that.....

  • It did the same thing to our back door, in the laundry room. Which is making a wet mess.

  • I wonder if the 7-11 is even going to be open. We have the day off work, they might too.

The dogs do NOT want to go outside. They wander in the wind scoured area a few feet from the door, but won't step into the bulk of the snow.

  • I'm seriously just thankful to have a roof over my head. It's days like these that make me so thankful for that. A friend of mine posted this on her Facebook status:

"To all my oklahoma people buckling down for the blizzard: wishing you a roof over your head, a working heater, and some food in your fridge. Should you have all of those things, consider yourself among the very fortunate indeed. Stay warm and count your blessings!"

She is so very right. :)

  • i must agree! im thankful to have a roof over my head as well! and heater and wood burning stove that have been going full force since last night.

I am looking forward to staying in my pj's all day laying on the couch!!

  • Our main valve is frozen. It's inside a tiny room with the hot water heater on the back of our house. The double doors let in snow and caked the valve--no water to our entire house at the moment. But I'm warm and we are thawing it with a radiant heater (not a space heater) so I'm at least comfortable. I would like to be able to run some water up in here though!

  • Snow came in under our front door too.  DH opened the front door and there's a nice little mound all around the bottom of the glass door.

Our hot water in the kitchen is frozen, but water in the rest of the house is working (though it's a slow stream at the moment) so I can't complain.
  • Everything's working here! We built a blanket fort last night and ate snacks and watched movies :)

Our pups are LOVING this snow. The roll around in it, bury their heads in it, eat it.

Maddux loves it too, he likes to go out every 10 minutes to check things out and eat the snow.  He always comes in with a snow beard, cracks me up every time! Big Smile  I guess it's better than having a dog who needs to go out but won't !

Agreed!  When I woke up in my nice warm bed this morning, I lay there for a minute and thought about how grateful I was to have it.  I hope all those out there who aren't so fortunate found shelter and warmth before the storm hit.

ITA! Yesterday while driving home I saw a man standing on the corner. I ended up giving hima few dollars I had on me but I keep hoping he found somewhere warm last night. We have some flurries coming through our backdoor so every once in awhile I feel alittle draft. I put a towel in front of it but it hasn't helped much. I hope everyone stays warm today!

  • I had snow at my front door and patio door, too. I just looked outside for the first time since this all ended - there are snow drifts EVERYWHERE. If we have to go back tomorrow, no idea how I'm gonna get out.

I'm grateful for a roof over my head, too!
