Travel Vibes/Vent

So DH's company has a conference each year last year it was in Orlando (so it was a direct flight) this year he's in San Diego (we are out of NY/NJ). So he left on Sunday morning on a super early (6am) direct flight out of Newark NJ cutting our weekend super short. He was supposed to fly home today via Chicago in to one of the NYC airports. Why his company would put them all on a flight that connected in Chicago is BEYOND me. Never do a layover in the winter in Chicago thats just asking for trouble (no offense to those who live in the area I love the city just not the snow). So now I'm stuck alone shoveling and doing all that while he has no idea how he's getting home since his flight was canceled this morning by the time I woke up. Sorry for the vent!!

So could I have some vibes that his company puts him up at the hotel longer and he doesn't have to go to the airport until he has a flight that is actually going to leave and take him home. I hate the idea of him sleeping in the airport. And that he gets a flight out of there before the weekend!

Lots of vibes! My friend is currently stuck at JFK, she got out of DC this morning and had a layover in NY but her flight from there to Boston was cancelled! She is currently trying to get on a train back to New England, but isn't sure they will get out in time! Its a terrible day to travel!

that suuucks!! my hubby does lots of travel for work too and it makes me crazy when they plan trips in the winter in the northeast!!!!! i hope he's not stuck there for too long! i don't blame you for needing to vent! let us know how it all works out.

Thansk! I hope you friend gets out! I think Amtrak is still running so hopefully she can get on a train before they start canceling trains from the snow.

Lots of vibes headed out to both of you. I know I was worried all day yesterday with H having to drive around in the freezing rain for work. Hopefully by tomorrow he will be able to get on a plane again.

He's heading to a Hilton (different hotel not sure what city) then out of LAX tomorrow rather then SAN. So far their flight it TBD sooooo I hope he gets some sort of flight tomorrow but we'll see I guess.....UGH!

Well, I don't understand why they would put him on a connection when there are direct flights from San Diego to EWR; I guess to save money. I'm glad he's got a hotel, although it stinks that his travel may be extended - but at least he is somewhere comfortable and safe. I'm traveling to Houston Mon-Weds next week for work and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get stuck!

That sucks! I have been stranded at an airport a couple of times overnight, and it is horrible! I'm glad he got to go to a different hotel and then hopefully home soon! Atleast you know he is safe and sound! My hubby has to drive in this crap no matter what (last time they closed the office and still sent him out to different towns to clean out the giant satellite dishes that provide the cable access...I told him to tell people to watch a GD movie!!!).

Well he's on the flight and they are getting ready to leave sooooo I think he'll be back in NY tonight....we'll see!
