Are they just jerks?
I'm still kinda mad that my IRL friends & family don't like the puppy's name. Which is too bad, because she's responding to it & it's my dog! I would never tell them that their dog's name is dumb. That's like telling someone you don't like what they named their child.
I guess I better just get used to it. Someday when we have a baby, I'm sure (I hope not though) I'll hear it again.
So, go ahead tell me the truth.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I hope they can keep their mouths shut then!
DH's uncle was the worst of them all. He made me a list of possibilities... let me see if I can remember them.
I know there were more, I just can't think of them right now.
My niece wanted me to name her Rapunzel & call her Rap for short. lol.
Your friends are jerks. Chilli is a cute name for a pet and it's fitting (she likes the snow! it's cold!)
My cat's names are Thumbs (she has thumbs) and Tundra, people gave me crap about Tundra cause they thought I named her that after the truck (DH in fact drives a tundra) but I named her Tundra because she's huge and white and reminds me of an animal you'd find in the great Tundra forest. I tell anyone that says anything to shove it! It's my pet I'll name her ***-face if I want! You should do the same.
We sometimes dog-sit a dog named Lilli. It gets really confusing, and last time we were going with "Lily the big girl" for DD and "Lilli the dog."
Lily is a stooopid name for a dog, in my humble and unbiased opinion. So are most of the other names on that list. That'd be like naming your dog Bob.
I am dying to see her picture, BTW, but whatever site you used is blocked at work. i shall have to wait until I get home.

I really do like it, but sadly, your above point is probably the truth. I haven't gotten too much negativity on Kennedy's name, but there has been some. I don't care. Not their kid. They want to name a baby, then they can have one. And the same goes for dogs IMO.
Lilli is my dog's name! I think it is perfect for her. Why do you think it's dumb?? Although my H and I agree that if it wasn't her name we would name our child that (if we one day have a girl).
And my BFF'S mom named her dog Bob. LoL now that I agree is dumb!
