Let's liven things up! Post some Tuesday randoms. About anything. Be random.
My random: I wouldn't call myself a psychic by any stretch of the imagination but I feel like I am very.....hmmm....in tune with things sometimes. Especially people's moods/emotions. And sometimes I will randomly get a flash of something in my head and then shortly afterward it will become apparent what that flash meant and it's usually eerily accurate. I can't explain it. And it's not all the time, just enough to notice something a bit out of the norm.
The most recent was actually this morning. I knew a friend was being induced yesterday and they didn't know what they were having. This morning, before checking on Facebook, I had a flash of BOY! in my head. And they had a boy. Another time I had MASON! flash in my head and shortly after found out our friends had a baby boy they named Mason. It's happened enough that I kind of freaks me out. And it's not always about babies, haha, those are just two recent ones.
Aaaaaand now I sound like a freak. Please don't call for a psychic reading...it happens randomly about different things and you probably couldn't afford my fees anyway. ![]()
Re: Tuesday randoms
Anyway...my random. I'm starting a quilt. I have 90 squares to make and only 3 down....this will be a LONG process! But here is square #1
I have an irrational fear of Owls...I feel they signify death...and not just owls, they have to be owls flying during the day. I saw one back in February 2006 in St. Paul, and that night got a call from my mom that my aunt had died.
That's my morbid one for the day...
I am watching my nephew at my office right now...nothing like collecting the IOU's
I can't see the image. :-( Good luck with the quilt.
While out with DH this weekend he decided to slam on the brakes and do a break stand to stop for the yellow light. I started bawling and realized I have a fear of dying in a car accident.
Thus explains while I also always drive and will only ride with few people.
Kiz...does this work now? I was having issues before because the "block photos from blah blah blah.." button is right above the image details one...oops...
Do you mean a brake stand? (I had to Google it.) I would be annoyed. Guys + cars + stupid tricks = I'm baffled.
Yep, not it works. That is funky! Not a "traditional" quilt design. I like non-traditional stuff :-)
I actually have the same thing happen often. I knew as soon as I POAS that my baby was a girl. See siggy pic. I commented to DH a few weeks ago about how crazy it would be if BIL and his wife were expecting. They said they would not try for 4-5 years. We found out last weekend they are due in Aug. I think they are having a boy but won't find out for a while.
I have short pinkie fingers. My sister and I all do and nobody can quite figure out where it came from because neither of my parents have it nor do my grandparents or cousins. Most people's pinkie finger goes up to their upper knuckle on their ring finger. Mine barely clears the first one. I don't know that my finger is short really though, I think it is the bone in my hand that is unusually short which, in turn, makes my finger appear short (my knuckle is lower on my hand than the others too)
One of my sisters is a Dr. now and she decided to research it one day but stopped because there are apparently all sorts of crazy syndromes that have that as a symptom! People don't notice it unless I point it out though which is nice. DH teases me mercilessly about it and then I say something cute about "you just wait, when we have a kid they'll have it too and you won't be able to tease me about it anymore".
I have never, in my 31 years of living, eaten an orange.
Until last year I'd never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Why not? (Out of curiosity)
Haha, this is funny, because I was actually thinking of posting "I have two different ears" as my random post, but then I didn't. The top of one of my ears curves back to rest against my head, and the other ear sticks out. I inherited a different ear from each of my parents. Fortunately nobody seems to notice unless I point it out to them.
(PS--good luck with the pregnancy/possible induction/possibly about to become a mom situation!)
I think it's a texture thing. Pulp freaks me out and I think they're super squishy and I'm not a fan of the smell. I can't even stand to be in the same room as someone eating an orange. I know. WEIRD, right?

Interesting... I know someone who vehemently hates all fruit and will make a big fuss if people are eating fruit around him. To him, the smell of fruit--any fruit--even lemons--smells like rotting garbage. Now THAT'S weird! Funny how different people's brains are
Me too. It actually runs in my family. My aunt is a medium to some sorts and one of my cousins in now exhibiting very spiritual gifts. All of us (meaning the cousins) have the "sense" to some extent or another; it's odd to mention, but kind of cool.

That's cool! DH has come to accept my weirdness :-) If he is in a bad mood he has a bit of a dark shadow (aura?) about him (I can't really explain it...it's just there. I don't physically see anything around him but when I think about him in my head then he is kind of....dark.) I ask him, "Are you okay?" and he'll say, "How big is my shadow today?" It's definitely odd but I love him for going along with it. :-)
