Re: GOP's War on Science, Knowledge, Learning....

  • I'm hoping this latest evidence of ignorance is brought up a lot this week. I don't want people voting for McCain/Palin based on some irrational belief that she'll do anything for special needs. This fruit-fly comment should be played over and over again among the scientific community throughout PA and NC. I would love it if her stupidity was rewarded with losing both swing states.

  • Yeah, I'm thinking that fruit fly stuff won't go over well in the triangle. ?But I would assume they're already a more liberal pocket in their state.

There's a book I read a few years ago called the Republican War on Science. ?This is right in line with that. ?Scary book.

  • LMW, you already know how I feel about this issue. Angry
  • Awesome.  thank jeebus for the elite media ;)

I particularly loved this line: "We could all expire happily in the name of God"

I am willing to bet $100 that my friends in drosophila labs are at this very moment crafting dartboards with her face on it.  How insulting.

  • So I guess she doesn't realize that some fruit fly labs are performing research that's funded by the DOD, huh? I know that's where the money the fly lab I schlepped in during college was coming from.

I still have that book sitting on my bookshelf. I laid it out more obviously when my parents visited recently. But I have yet to read it.
