Becca - thanks for your post! It reminded me I wanted to ask this...
We are hosting our annual Super Bowl party this year, and instead of providing a bunch of food that always goes uneaten (we've done burgers, chili, etc. in the past), we've decided to have everyone bring some sort of appetizer, or whatever.
My plan is to personally have a veggie tray, fruit, and maybe three appetizers.
Any good ideas?
(I should note, there will be lots of kids here, too)

Re: Super Bowl Food
I was thinking something like this too. You could do a spinach and artichoke dip with bread or toasted bread.

My dad makes cocktail weenies every year for New Years Eve, Superbowl, and our Christmas Eve snack party. They're freaking awesome. You put 8 oz. bbq sauce, 8 oz. grape jelly, and one package of "Little Smokies" cocktail weenies in a saucepan or crockpot & just heat it all up together. Sooo yummy.

What's LittleMissNewlywed Cooking?
We're having a little Super Bowl party too
My 'go to' appetizer is queso dip with tortilla chips and/or different types of bread (typically I do french or italian baguettes) cut up into small chunks and I bake it for a few minutes so it gets a little stiff. The queso dip is just velveta cheese melted with salsa, and everyone always loves it.
Also, I make chicken taquitos that are super easy and really yummy. The recipe is kind of long though, so if you are interested, just let me know and I'll type it out.
You could also just do popcorn and buy several of the different flavor powders for it and have separate little bowls for people.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pizza Dip
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 c. sour cream
1 tsp. dried crushed oregano
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. onion powder
Optional - 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper flakes. I also throw in a little basil as well.
1/2 c. canned pizza sauce - I usually use more - enough to cover the top of the dip.
1/2 c. chopped pepperoni
1/2 c. shredded mozzarella - I usually use enough to cover the top of the dip.
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut the cream cheese into large portions and place into a pot on the stove to melt. Once melted, mix in the sour cream and spices. Adjust seasonings to taste.
Spread mixture into a over safe pie plate. Spread pizza sauce on top of dip. Sprinkle pepperoni on top of pizza sauce. Cover with the shredded mozzarella.
Place in over to bake approximatelly 10 minutes (or until cheese is melted).
Serve with crackers, breadsticks or whatever you'd like. I usually serve mine with these parmesean asiago triscut thin crisps and it's AMAZING!!!
You can also use whatever pizza toppings you'd like - I made a veggie on with mushrooms, black olives, etc.
And I always at least double the recipe-------------------------------------------------------------
Also, along the same lines as little smokies are Pigs in a Blanket.
You get the Crossaint package, cut the triangles in half, put a little mustard on one side.
I also cut the little smokies in half, put some cheese in there. Then I wrap the little smokies with the crossaint and pop them in the oven. YUM!
Thank you all for the ideas!!! I appreciate it! I was having a hard time coming up with anything besides queso, ranch dip, etc...
