Snowmaggedon anyone?

It is insane here! We're now forecasting 23 inches by tomorrow morning. I went live at 5 and 6 and my face literally stung from all the snow blowing around. I'm sleeping here at the station because there is no way I want to drive in this crap.

How is everyone else fairing? Ebonie, I saw OKC on the news this morning. Did you guys get it as bad?

Re: Snowmaggedon anyone?

  • Today was an easy day for us, we only got about 3/4 inches of snow, but on top of that we got an inch of ice, and tomorrow they are prediciting another inch or two, so let's see, but that's on top of the 75...yes I said 75 inches of snow we got in January.
  • Well, we had 63" before today.

We just got about another foot.

We're supposed to get another 6-12" through tomorrow.

    UGH.

  • Silly question..what exactly are you sleeping arrangements at the studio?

  • Well, Alyssa, that's a good question. There's talk of talking our 4wd vehicles and heading to a coworker's house. She only lives 5 minutes from the station. Hopefully I can sleep on a couch instead of a conference table tonight.

Vikki- That's insane! And it sounds like Jackie is right behind you.

Yeah, looks so.  I'm so over it, we've reached record numbers and the last time it was even close was over 30 years ago.

    I'm so over the snow.

I have to be in NYC tomorrow for an event and the hosting organization says the weather is going to be a non-issue and not effect the city. Non-issue my a$$.

It's going to be all ice and rain tomorrow, but during the afternoon it's going to be a little warmer, so you might be ok.

    Good Luck.

  • Oh my gosh..OKC was on the news? We only make the news when we do something bad or get a ton of snow. :P

We were hit pretty hard - got 2-3" of ice and 8-10" of snow. This is the first time EVER that my university has canceled the day before...they usually wait until the morning of to cancel. It's all gone now, but the snow drifts suck really bad, and the wind's still blowing the drifts higher. People can't get out of my parking lot, and I'm not sure if I can get to my car because of the drift.

Currently, we've got freezing rain [awesome, not] and a temp of 10 with wind chill of -4. I'm not sure when we'll be able to all dig out. You ladies stay safe!!

  • We have probably 3/4 inch of ice under a foot of snow... snow has stopped for now. Wind is killer! The temp is 7 and wind chill is -11.

I'm not sure if we're going to try to get out today... but I have to work at 3 a.m. tomorrow so maybe I'll have DH dig the car out so we can see what the roads are like, I do not like driving in this stuff!

  • Ice. About 4" of it in the driveway when I left this morning. And just going to and from court, I think I've seen more cars spun out than I have in all my years of driving.
