Anyone doing anything for Super Bowl Sunday?
For those not watching the Super Bowl, will you enjoy a day of shopping in nearly empty stores?
I'm a huge football fan so the Super Bowl is a special event for us. I have already prepared my menu which will include:
And it will look like this:
I'll be sporting my green shirt to support the Packers!
Re: Super Bowl
we aren't sure what we will be doing yet, because its our first day off together in ages, so we might go away for the weekend to go skiing. in which case, we wont get home until kind of late (5 or so) and wont have time to make all the things i wanted to make. my dream menu of what i was planning:
crockpot pulled pork
artichoke dip (debbie, thanks for the WW recipe!)
stuffed shrooms
guac and salsa
deviled eggs
Blog
First of all- WOW!!! Your menu sounds amazing and I love the display!!
Second- GO PACK GO!!!!!!! I'm in Wisconsin and a BIG packers fan, so I'm SUPER excited about the game. (sorry about all the caps, but that's just how darn excited I am).
We haven't decided what we're doing for the game. We were invited to a party, but I like to really be able to watch the game and commercials, so I don't like being the group that just talks during everything (unless it's about the game). Guess I'm a football snob like that. If Hubby has a lot of homework, we might just stay home that way he can do homework during the game if he doesn't finish it earlier in the day.
My BIL, sister and nephew will be up for the weekend so we'll watch it. I'll be pulling for the Packers. As far as the menu that I know of, so far.
- deer sausage cheese dip (OMG SO GOOD!)
- i'll probably pick up a pizza or some pizza rolls or something
- lil smokies wrapped in bacon (just found a yummo recipe with brown sugar)
-that artichoke dip sounds yummy too so I'm adding it to the list
-and maybe some wings
FYI- I just looked at the recipe for the WW artichoke dip. I made something like that at x-mas. (Didn't realize it was like this recipe, but took it upon myself to use low fat/ non fat stuff). Any who, I used motz. chz instead of cheddar and it was amazing. Just thought I'd suggest that as well.
I'll be making this substitution too.
I don't consider myself to be high class...I'll be drinking beer too. I just love to cook and I always over do it when it comes to hosting events.
Jen- You are more than welcome to come over
Shauni- I was debating between your recipe and the WW one, but I am trying so hard to be good
Yup, these are the ones I am making too. They are sooooo good!
if only we weren't on opposite sides of the US!
The "Snackadium" looks awesome!
We're going to BM's parents' house. I think the menu will included BBQ pulled chicken and several dips including a velveeta/chili dip, a buffalo chicken dip, seven layer dip and good ole fashion onion dip. Oh and salsa. MOH and I LOVE dip.
The Princess of Anything is Coming!
Had a dream I was queen.
Woke up. Still queen.
OMG Deb! I want to go to there....
You know, I'm in Walnut Creek...I think it's only a couple hours down to your area
This year is Super Bowl falls on my BF's birthday (AND she's moving that weekend). As of right now, the plan is to pick up some BBQ and head over to their half empty house and watch the bowl.
Although I'm not really a fan of either team, A Rod is from Chico, Ca so I guess that's enough for me. Go Pack Go!
I was just kidding....
Now I'm going to start drinking beer with my pinky up...lol.
Deb, I would LOVE to make that snackadium!!! I'm butt hurt we're travelling across town and will be guests, because if we were hosting something, I would do it for sure.
Everyone is bringing something to our pot luck Bowl, so we're taking cream filled chocolate cupcakes and this AMAZING artichoke dip. I just got the recipe from one of our local breweries. Took it to a party last week and people were begging for the recipe. I just used light mayo and light sour cream so it wasn't too bad. Can't wait to eat it again...
ALL this food talk is making me hungry and I shouldn't be!
It seriously needs to be 5 so I can head home and make me some turkey burgers and WW mac 'n' cheese!!!
This makes me laugh and laugh and LAUGH.
I will probably be hungover Sunday. I'm having a bunch of ladies over Saturday while the mens go to a Temple basketball game. It's sure to be a crapshow.
My menu for THAT is:
i asked moleson for the recipe yesterday...can't wait to eat it!
Hahaha...you can come over too.
I'm only rooting for the Packers because I despise the Steelers since they always beat the Raiders. But then what team doesn't...I knew someone was going to make that comment so I beat you to it!
