soooooooooo ? dare we ask? how'd work go? i hope ok!!

Re: caroline

  • Work was fine. I've never seen my boss in such a good mood. She kept raving to everyone on the phone how happy she was to have me back and told me that I got more done in 4 hours this morning than they've done in a week between them. Of course, the place is a shambles. All of my organization has gone out the window - nothing is organized so I have to sort through everything and I have so much work to do.

Lucie on the other hand.... she did not do well and today she was with Arek. She wouldn't eat, screamed a lot, wouldn't nap, so he brought her to me at lunch so I could feed her. I came home and she fed off of me for like 90 mins. I just put her down and hope she stays asleep as we've been having some issues getting her to stay asleep but she looked so exhausted and sad and was not her usual self. I dread to think what it'll be like when she goes to daycare if she's like this with Arek.

  • So sorry to hear that Lucie didn't do too well today.  I know how hard that can be.  I remember calling my mom to check on Andrew and hearing him scream in the background because he was hungry and wouldn't take a bottle.  Just thinking of it breaks my heart still.  But...he did get better and Lucie will too.  You seem like you are handling things great already though and you should be so proud of yourself. Being a working mommy is one of the hardest jobs in the world.  It is hard on you both physically and emotionally, but you made it through the dreaded first day and now at least that's over with : )

I totally agree with Gina!  Chase had a rough transition to the sitter for a week or two.  He wouldn't poop for her and had really bad gas and cried for a long time.  John's cousin who is a nurse said that is common as they get used to new sounds, smells, and the feelings of being held by new people.  He was fine after a couple of weeks, and now reaches out for the sitter when John drops him off in the morning.

I think it is harder on the parents than the baby.  That totally sucks that all of your organization is gone, but at least you will be busy so the work day should go by faster :-)
