Permanent Manicure

I had started getting the Shellac/Permanent manicure in December and just love it. The first time I went it was about $37, then my MIL found a place on the westside and I went this past week and its only $26.The place is called Hair We Are and the lady is Colleen. She did an amazing job. I usually wait to make another appointment but I made my next appointment the same day. $26 is a lot easier for me spend and it usually lasts me about 2.5 - 3 weeks. Tell her Brandy sent you and me and you get $$ off your visit.

Just wanted to pass along this awesome place. Its on the westside, but worth the travel time.

Re: Permanent Manicure

  • Hair We Are is where I got my hair done for my wedding :).  My cousin's bestie's mom owns the place.  My nails suck and I've always debated doing something like this.  Thanks for the review and reco!
  • I love this stuff- however I have oily nails and it only lasts about a week- not worth the money for me, but very pretty. My friends all get it and LOVE it.

  • Question for you ladies that get these - Do they ruin your natural nails like acrylics do?  As your nail grows, do you just get the bottoms filled in?  And, how do you get them off - DIY at home or have to make an appt?
  • I've never had this done but I was talking with someone this weekend that does it.  She said it doesn't ruin your nail like acrylics do and she made it sound like they take it off and redo it each time you go in.  HTH
  • They take the polish off and then redo it when you go back. It has not hurt my nails at all. I was a nail biter and dont bite them when they are manicured. I will try to PIP later.
  • I had Axxium, the OPI version.  My nails started peeling after removal and it took about 4 months for them to return to normal.  My only other experience is with the cheap strip mall places (where they wear masks & drill the acrylic).  OPI & other salon systems are supposed to be far better & more gentle but so far all of them ruin my nails.

Same here.  I loved how it looked when I had it done around Christmas but my nails have been trashed since then (the part that had the polish and is growing out).
