I think I can pretty much float through the rest of the week. Not that I don't have work to do - there's plenty of that - but all the things that really mattered to me on a non-work-level are wrapped up, so now I feel like I can focus on work in a more relaxed fashion.
H's birthday dinner at the boathouse last night was quiet and easy. Just like he wanted. That made me really happy! And we have leftovers, so dinner for tonight is almost done too. Can't beat that!
How's your week?
Re: What's Up Wednesday?!
Glad u had fun last nite with DH!
I'm doing pretty good. I slept pretty decent the last two nites! WOOHOO! I have a Dr's appt Friday that I'm getting anxious for so I really can't wait until Friday!
It's been busy and sleep deprived so far. DD has been sick since Saturday, but is finally a little better today (no more fever = daycare! YAY!). So we all slept better last night. Hopefully no one else will get it because it sucked arse.
At work we are preparing to submit a grant application today but we can't get to the part of the serve that has all the documents on it...whee!
I don't know if we'll have power when we get home, I certainly hope so.
I'm just plain exhausted and can't believe it's only Wednesday...
I'm not sure if I mentioned it on this board or not but we're booked on a cruise in April that has an overnight in Alexandria/Cairo. Needless to say I've been glued to the news and seeing how events are unfolding. I know that ships are currently diverting to other ports (Cyprus, Israel, Istanbul) but no news yet on what ours will do since it's still a couple months out. If things are unsafe when we sail they'll probably sub a similar port. Going to Egypt was the primary reason for booking this itinerary and I don't really see us going there on our own (ie: not on a cruise). I had been tracking this itinerary for 2 YEARS and jumped on it when I saw the lowest price ever (and this was pre-rioting). The cruise would still be fantastic without Cairo but I'd be bummed to miss the pyramids (and would need to do it some time likely in the distant future).
Today is the last day that we can cancel our cruise and still get 100% refund. But, our flight (to Rome) is already booked so we'd either have to do a land-based trip in the same time period or pay change fees of $250pp.
Bleh. WWYD? Sorry that was long...

I would still go on the cruise...But thats just cruises are my favorite vacation ever! But I don't think u can go wrong either way!
DH and I are both off for a second snow day. He's upstairs doing work for a recertification class he's been putting off for months. Thank god b/c I don't think either of us can stand a second day together stuck in the house! Plus I'm tired of seeing the books sitting around the house.
Also, we have branches down all over our yard. DH's old car is on the street, ready for Goodwill to pick it up, and half of a small tree fell on it but did no damage. I would so rather get the insurance $$ for the stupid car! We also need a new roof but of course none of our branches did anything to the roof. Grr! Oh well, at least we have power, internet, cable, etc!
I'd click my heels together and chant *Istanbul! Istanbul! Istanbul!*. But that's b/c it's on my bucket list. So much history and fascinating architecture there! B/c ya know, Istanbul was Constantinople...now I have that song stuck in my head.
It was so hard to get out of bed this morning after listening to the pounding rain all night. I just wanted to stay in bed!
But I didn't, so here I am at work. Busy busy, but spending my lunch watching the Ryan Widmer live blog on WLWT.
I'm trying to decide if I should go to running group tonight or just run in my 'hood. I'm leaning toward running in my 'hood, only because C doesn't drive his rear-wheel drive in crappy weather, so if I run with the group I'll have to go from Rookwood to Blue Ash to Milford and then back to O'Bryonville. Seems like a huge waste of time and gas.

THis hasn't been a great week for me, but I am sure it will get better. My Cats lost last night to another SEC team, grrr. This morning the strap on my gym bag broke when I was walking into work and then I logged in and my laptop still has a virus!
I pretty much hated the whole world this morning when I woke up, and my brain has been messed up (forgot to pack my lunch, so I had to go home and do it after the gym instead of going straight to the office. Then I left my purse at the office so I need to make an extra trip tomorrow.) I was feeling SORE and tired.
But things got better. Circuit class helped, even if I did slack a little to baby my owie shins. Then Aleve took care of the shins. Then work went decently well. Then all hell broke loose in my last session of the day and I had to call the police on a client and now I'm trying to destress from that by cooking like mad!!
