I saw that a week or so ago and spent far too long reading the comments. So funny.
I mean, seriously Paula?
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
OMG
Utter confusion! I was flummoxed by the weights and measures in this recipe. The recipe calls for 14 1/2 ounces of English peas. However, the Brits use the metric system. So I couldn?t trust that the label on the can was an accurate conversion. Who certifies this? I was also unsure if 14 1/2 ounces should be before or after draining the peas. This is the equivalent of 411 grams, which sounds like a lot to feed 6-8 people. So I finally decided that 14 1/2 ounces is the weight prior to draining. (I also wasn?t sure what to do with the drained liquid. Also: the first line in the recipe calls for 1/4 cup of butter, which is the (American equivalent of 1/2 stick. Do the Brits sell butter in sticks that weigh the same as ours - 56.699 grams for 1/2 stick in this case? This recipe really should have included the metric equivalents to make it easier to work with. I was finally too paralyzed by uncertainty to try the recipe at all. Too bad, because it looks fabulous based on the ingredients.
Amazing.

Well, thanks. Now I won't get any work done today. I love how they turned the bacon into egg parm.
