This is somewhat laughable, some of you guys would crack up if you saw what we ended up with. Yes it's a lot, no it's not the disaster they predicted. Glad I took the under on this storm. LOL
I am having an internal argument with myself about going to work. DH is going to call and tell me how his drive in was and maybe just go in around lunch (my commute for today is a shorter one).
Re: 'Blizzard'
Be safe!!
Sidenote:I was thinking about you this morning. I was listening to the radio and they mentioned some random fact about there being 50,000 homeless dogs roaming the streets of Detroit. Is that true? If so, that makes me so sad
OMG that is so sad. I don't know how accurate it is but there are for sure that many cats. One time though on my way to work I was driving through a somewhat rough area and I saw the scariest pack of dogs ever!! They were obviously strays, and just really rough look and stuck together like glue. If I remember correctly there were about 7 or 8 of them. Since then I always wondered if there were other packs like that because I have never seen that before.
How did everyone else fair? I figured we must have gotten hit the lightest.
I guarantee we got it lighter than you. All we have is rain! lol
Oh and I hope the dog thing isn't true. Stray dogs and cats just break my heart.
oh dani. you are such softy when it comes to animals. they aren't humans :P

Don't worry Dani I'm like you. DH won't let me look at petfinder b/c he knows I'll want to bring them all home.
We have rain this morning and a high of 72 predicted!
Wives Unscripted
We got about 5" yesterday (that's my guess, I haven't watched the news) and are expecting about 10" today, but freezing rain mixed in -- so it makes it even more dangerous.
My work and Jacob's daycare closed today!! Work hasn't closed all season, only a delay last month, so I'm psyched to not have to take a vacation day to take care of Jacob.

Ice like that can be super scary. Stay safe!!!
No wind here like Geo and Tania had last night.
We only got an inch or two of snow, but underneath everything is ice. And it was 15 degrees yesterday and today. Our schools are closed for the second straight day, no one in Dallas knows how to drive in this kind of weather.
Not very good weather for hosting a Super Bowl, the airport has been closed for 2 days!!!
Yeah poor W Michigan is almost in their own snowy world, Lake Michigan dumps some major snow over there and everyone in the rest of the state is almost oblivious to it. After reading how much snow the other girls here deal with on a regular basis I feel very lucky, but W Michigan would be right up there with them for sure.
Yeah, we've got a shitton of snow here. The drifts are insane! I'll have to take some pictures and post them when I can get up again. I can see our super sweet neighbor snowblowing our driveway though. What a nice man!
There is a drift on our sidewalk that is probably 3 or 3 1/2 feet. And there's a drift behind Drew's truck that goes up to the tailgate.

Lake Effect snow is a whole different beast. We get it here in Syracuse from Lake Ontario. There are bands that form and they always go over Syracuse, particularly my town since it's a bit more north.
