Snow Day Ladies- watcha doin'?
I'm watching the snow fall while I work (and post here). What is everyone else up to today?
Re: Snow Day Ladies- watcha doin'?
Why nesting, of course!
Ridley got some Play-Doh for her birthday so I think we may open that up today. I may also try out the black bean brownie recipe. And I may take my chances and allow Ridley to nap in my bed with me after lunch. I never get a chance to snuggle her and today seems like the perfect day. We sometimes have issues getting her to nap in her own bed after allowing her to sleep with us, but that might just be a chance I am willing to take today.
I am hoping that DH gets to leave work early today. It isn't getting any better out there!
Chili has been in the crockpot since I woke up. Planning to have some for lunch and then portion out the rest of it to freeze for dinners. Hashbrowns are in the oven since I had 5 pounds of potatoes that HAD to be used up soon. Those will get chilled in the garage and then frozen in portions.
Laundry is in the dryer and will be folded momentarily so I don't have to do as much this weekend.
I'm going to go play my Wii for at least an hour to burn off some calories.
Other than that, I have an "event" to edit (Woot!), a couple albums to wrap up, and at least three outstanding emails to reply to. I also have a vendor packet to get together and then 19 thank you cards to write and sign for 2010 folks.
Hubby leaves work at 3 and I'm determined to be a good wifey and actually get stuff done today as opposed to being a bum like I was during a bunch of other snowdays we've had this year.

Nesting, facebook, work emails...That is what my day will consist of...Josh and I will be playing play-doh at some point and maybe coloring...He's been up since 530 so I'm hoping he is ready for a nap soon...
I have to figure out how to shovel the driveway so that Rick can get in tonight when he gets home but um that's a bit tough when I have a 21 month old I can't very well just leave inside to fend for himself...
oh we just woke up- yes it's noon, I knew I had a snow day last night when I went to bed.
I plan to do laundry, make cookies, work on my reappointment/continuing contract packet, write a research proposal and do some other stuff with DH.
The snow looks pretty fluffy right now, so hopefully cleanup is easy.
I'm working... Not sure why, it's dead here at the Courthouse (there's nothing on the Court's docket today), and since only 7 of 25 of the employees in my office showed up today, and the rest of the world clearly believes we're closed. The phones aren't ringing, and the only one who has come here in person is the prosecutor for the PD in the next town over.
I have gotten some work done, someone brought in munchkins, and I didn't have to use a vacation day to stay home... overall, kind of worth it.
My Wedding Bio! Not updated in a LONG time!
Ive been mostly working from home this morning. I'm going to handle a couple more quick work tasks and then call it a half day. I want to play in the snow!
DH is home, so we'll probably all go out this afternoon once James is up and fed for some fun in the snow. I'm hoping to make a snow fort in the backyard- we'll see if little one is into it or not.
Before that happens, I need to eat and attempt to make James some mittens since his normal pair is attached to his daycare jacket which is hanging at daycare. I've got some fleece and fabric and can't imagine mittens being too hard to whip up.
Later tonight I want to get some bellydance practice in and research more places to rent for SIL's wedding in Hawaii this summer. I had kielbasa and some sort of veggie on the menu, but now that I've got more time, I might swap in the chicken with scallions, sushi rice, and beets that we were going ot have tomorrow night as it sounds super yummy on a cold snuggly night.
