So my Aunt turns 50 on Sunday and I told my Uncle that I would help him out with a birthday party! Sooooo long story short I'm having a party at my (cozy little ) house with about 35-40 people...yikes! My mom's family is huge! This is just my aunts, uncles and first cousins! Anyway, I am cookng lunch BUT I don't know what would be good to cook! My aunt (for some strange reason) doesn't like pasta! So I was thinking about some sort of chicken dish! She doesn't like seafood and she loves steak but is having that the night before at her in-laws! Any ideas for a menu would be helpful and much appreciated!! Thanks Ladies!
Re: What would you cook???
I agree. You could do a couple of different types of sandwiches or sliders. I also really like the idea of a make-your-own bar. You can offer all sorts of toppings but don't have to go to the work of assembling everything for 35-40 people yourself!
I like the idea of the make-your-own sandwiches with a pot of soup and a pot of chili. With a meal like that you can get away with appetizers as side dishes, without having to do too much...ex: chips and guacamole can be self-serve on the side with a sandwich.
For dessert, do ice cream sundaes and cupcakes...again, self-serve style food.
