How would you interpret this?
I get my hair cut at Juut. (They call their stylists "Daymakers" - cheeeeeesetastic but that is a whole other topic.) There was a little decal on the mirror that said, "Beauty is a gift that some never receive." What do they mean? Some people are ugly and will always be ugly? Hah. I don't think that's what they mean but I can't help but squirm a bit when I see it. I just can't put my finger on why.

Re: How would you interpret this?
Hmmm.....I don't know what to think. I suppose you could think of beauty as from within and some people will always be ugly that way....maybe??
Or some people will never receive anything beautiful in their lives.... which is kind of weird.
I'm not a fan...haha

Maybe it was a failed effort to promote their gift products?
You didn't ask your stylist what it meant?
Oh and I agree that "daymaker" is kind of silly, but I seriously LOVE my stylist (at the Roseville Juut), and it really does make my day to get my hair cut there
I'm fairly certain they mean kindness. Day-making. The whole, cheesey as it might be to some, Juut philosophy. Beauty - be it a smile, a kind word, someone who makes their day - isn't something that all people receive daily, sometimes ever.
Although, yes, I agree, they need to word it better.
I'm not the biggest fan of David Wagner (although I fully admit I do not know him) but I find his philosphy to be inspiring. Try to be the best you and make people's days along the way. It's a good way to live!

If that is what they are going for then they need to word it muuuuuch differently.
I find it to be a bit gimmick-y and schmaltzy and not in a way that I respond to 100% positively. But I too like my stylist so I will continue to go there.
Sweet, did I MAKE YOUR DAY?!?
Yes, Kiz, you are... a DAYMAKER!
Ugh, their "daymaker" schpeel and associated baloney is totally annoying. Their CEO wrote books and does motivational speaking on this mumbo jumbo. Makes fistfulls of money, I'm sure. Barf.
And yeah, that weird statement is VERY.... weird....
