birthday buddies?

I just had a mini brainstorm.  I know we did the ornament exchange and book club and whatnot, but what about a birthday buddy?

Those who want to participate get (randomly?) paired up and buy their secret birthday buddy a present on her birthday.  We can post what our BB gave us on here, and see the posts all year round!  yay!

Oui?  Non?  Thoughts?

P.S., no, it is not almost my birthday.  I have no idea why I just thought of this. :P

  • I like it! Do we put a cap on how much one can spend, or no?
  • I'm in....why not!  Def. think a cap is needed though

  • I think it's a great idea... They do something similar on the GP board with Nestie Secret Angels (NSAs) where for all the major events in your pick's life, you send them something nice, under a few bucks... gifts for holidays, cards for special occasions, etc. and then reveal yourself at the end of the year.
  • Haaaate it! My birthday just passed! Stick out tongue

I think it's a good idea, just hoping that everyone stays around for the length of the year that way no one gets screwed.

  • Yeah, I think we'd have to put a cap on it.  Like... what... $20 or under?

And whatever date we started it, we'd have to stop at the same date next year so we didn't miss anyone. :)

ditto. I'd be hesitant, but if it a $20 cap then that's not so bad.

  • I Like it! If people are worried about people not being around a full year, we could do valentines

    This would be my concern.

Yeah, I'd be concerned about this too.  A year is a long time to assume that everyone will keep up with it, not forget, not move on.  Even with the best of intentions starting out, there are people who are sure to get screwed.

Ditto! But I think it would be super fun! And I would be in if we did do it

    I love the valentines idea!!

I would be worried as well about people sticking around for the whole year but I would do it!

  • Valentines day is a good one too. And although we have a while we can always do a 1 year married exchange thing, in October.
