Groundhog Day Poll/Question

Given that today is Groundhog day....

Punxatawney Phil has not seen his shadow....So spring is near! (Tell that to my ice storm over my house right now...yeah....) ... See details of the little dude here: http://www.groundhog.org/

ANYWHO.

I'm sure some/most of you have seen the movie groundhog day.

If you could relive 1 day of your life without consequences to the future (Aside from your wedding day, ladies....let's make this more interesting!), what day would it be?

Why? Would you change anything or would you just relive it exactly how it was the first time?

Re: Groundhog Day Poll/Question

  •  I think I would relive the day the I first kissed Ziggy. It was such a whirlwind and I don't think i paid enough attention to everything. I would love to relive it JUST as it was so I had a better memory of it all.

It would also be interesting to be in that same situation knowing now that I ended up marrying him! We really had no plan when this all started :)

  • isn't the tradition a shame, because either way they say it it's still 6 weeks. Like if he doesn't see his shadow then it's 6 more weeks of winter, but if he sees it it's 6 weeks till springs here?

I think I would relive the day I flew out to see my H out here in Connecticut. His face that day brings me to tears.

  • I would relive the day Chris proposed to me. Like yours Kim, it was just a whirlwind and I wish I would have paid attention more! I can't really remember anything he said to me (oops!) and I wish I wouldn't have rushed outside immediately to call like every single person I knew. I would have liked to just relish in the moment more.

  • I would relive the day we got engaged or a fun day with my dad when I was little such as when we went to baseball games or out to eat.

I would want to relive the day DH proposed as well. I'm like you and I don't really remember what he said. Well, he did kind of propose while I was in the middle of an anxiety attack so, hey, I have an excuse :) The day itself was really fun too. We hiked up the tallest mountain in the adirondacks during downpouring rain, strong winds, and even some hail near the top (all playing a part in my freak out moment). I gotta to hand it to DH. He stuck to his plan despite the horrible weather. I would go through it all again in a heartbeat.

I also wouldn't mind reliving the day that I first met DH.  3 years ago my sister and brother-in-law thought that we would be "cute" together and asked if we would want to meet.  Of course, we said yes but we actually met before that at their wedding reception some 8 or 9 years ago.  I vaguely remember being introduced to a friend of my BIL's, which would have been DH, but I would love to go back to that day and see what went through my head when we shook hands and said our nice to meet you's.  It would also be fun just to watch that moment and be able to think, you two have no idea what your future will bring.  But, I barely remember that day at all.

  • Could I just relive our entire honeymoon in Hawaii???

I do remember our engagement, both the official and unofficial ones!  I would want to relive the day about a year and a half ago when we got together (we had been on a break) when we went to dinner and he told me he loved me and wanted to marry me.  I just remember having my mouth drop open!  I would love to hear that conversation again!

  • I would also re-live the day that DH proposed.  I had to work that day, but he called me like 3 times to double-check our plans and ask if I wanted to wear a dress, "since you said we never get to dress up."  He made reservations and everything, and I still had no clue.  I was so excited all day though, because it was our 3 year anniversary.  Like pps, I honestly can't remember much of what he said.  I remember standing there, rooted to the spot, knowing what was going on, but not fully comprehending it.  Gosh. It's fun to remember that day.  I wanna go squeeze him now :)

  • Very good question!

Other than wishing I had slept the night before the last day I saw my dad, and wishing I didn't act like a bratty teenager b/c I was stressed about packng my entire apartment in less than 24 hours...

I think I would wish to relive either the night we met or the week we got back together. The night we met, I remember thinking "who is that guy who is hanging out by us?"  We were at a bar to hear a band,   and all of our friends thought we already knew each other.   The week we got back together...  I was in town for a business trip,  and was borrowing the visitor parking spot in his lot- he came down to give me the pass, and kissed me and then said we need to talk :)   Or the day we got engaged.  I wish I had TWO boxes of  Excellence Cream by Loreal- since the one I used that morning dyed my roots bright orange instead of dark brown.

  • I'm so lucky to have had so many perfect days in my life so far. Thinking of all the people I've had in my life and the places I've been, it's hard to pick one of them.

But the one I would pick would be at the camp we had when I was a kid. We were there all the time, and sometimes my grandparents would spend the day. So I would take the day when my whole family was there, my mom, stepfather, my dad, grandparents and my sisters. I've only seen my stepfather once since he and my mother split up, and my mom and both grandparents have all passed away. Also, at this point in time the relationship with one of my sisters is almost nonexistent. It takes a day like that to remember a time when thinking of those people isn't sad.

  • Great question! I'd either relive the day DH proposed, because I think I ruined his original plan for earlier that day (oops!) or the first weekend (if I had to apick a day, Saturday) he spent visiting me in Pittsburgh!
