Yup, snow day. I don't think our office is officially closed (because they're crazy, and anyone who makes decisions is in the Chicago area today) but all the schools between my house and my work are closed and the provincial police are recommending you stay off the roads.
For drives into the city (aka, Derek's commute) they're saying to double or triple your drive time, as in, it would take Derek 3-4.5 hours to get to work. Sooo, he's staying home too!
Hopefully everyone has power/heat and lots of food and can enjoy a snowday!
Now, I'm going back to bed!

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

Re: Happy Hump/Snow Day!
Enjoy your snow days! And while you're at it, do you mind sending an inch or two this way? I miss the snow. And it's kinda funny watching the Brits freak out over the smallest amount.
Anyway, that makes it a normal day for me here. Just eating lunch and hoping the afternoon goes by quickly.
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
I'm off and just got up to have breakfast. We went and saw No Strings Attached last night...it was funny--even Ed enjoyed it, but the heat wasn't working in the theater we were in, so it was low 50s and chilly. However, we were given free passes when we left, so that was a bonus, and I had my winter coat, so that was fine.
Today I plan to fold some laundry, get in a run, and snuggle on the couch with the dogs and Ed. Oh, and shovel obviously. I also brought home some work, so I may try to grade a few things and enter grades online later so I have less to do Thursday and Friday.

Good Morning.
It will be a busy day for me, which is good because this hump day should go by fast! Last night I fell asleep at 9pm it was lovely, I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore.
I hope everyone has a great snowy day.
WFH today, at least until the temps rise some more and all the ice is gone.

Good morning! Enjoy your snow day, everyone.
It might be quiet over here today again. The feds allowed unscheduled telework for the potential freezing rain (which was just rain--and it's going to be 55 today), and I think a lot of people will take advantage of it. I need one specific agency person here to help me out with something, but I'm actually hoping she teleworks. I have no desire to help pack and ship a book I've been moving through the publication process. It can wait.
Tonight I'm by myself while H gets training for a website he's the managing editor of; I might go for another run since last night's was awesome. We'll see.
Stay warm, all.
Good morning!
We only have about 1/4 inch of snow, but it's 12 below zero with windchill of 30 below. My daughter has another snow day from school, but even if my office was closed I would be here. I cannot possibly take a day off in February, regardless of conditions.
Enjoy your day off, ladies!
It is bad here. A sarg had to come get Sean for work because our driveway is up to my chest in snow. The snow is up to the roof in the back. Sean was able to dig a small potty sized patch for Sully.
My brother spent the night because he commutes about 45mins each way and the roads were so bad that he came here, from the looks of it, he'll be here until Sean gets home from work. So that means the productive day I was going to have, will most likely be spent hanging out and watching bad movies with my brother.
Good morning!
Yup, I'm having a snow day too. It actually doesn't look too bad at the moment but I think it will get worse later. It did sound pretty stormy last night.
I'm technically working from home but I think I will also take some time today to start thinking about decorating schemes for the new house!

I think if the storm hadn't hit during rush our, we'd totally have open schools today! Anyway, I'm in my pjs. I'm going to spend most of the day marking, then entering the marks into my program so that tomorrow I can upload everything to the intranet.
I really need this day to finish off the marking, so I'm looking forward to sitting in the kitchen with a pot of tea, a green pen and a furious pace.

Hope those of you snowed/iced in find a way to enjoy your day off! No go on bad weather here, it's supposed to be 50 and sunny here.
I couldn't get out of bed for the life of me this morning, and the longer I stayed in bed, the more snuggly DH got, which lead to yoga, which then made me late for work and I don't care. oops.
We haven't had snow here in awhile (so much for the "greatest snow on earth") but it is freezing. When I went to school this morning it was 11. Yikes! I'm at work and don't plan on leaving til I'm headed home to my warm house.
Hope everyone who got hit with the storm stays warm and enjoys a snow day (if you have one) if not be safe if you have to go out!
That happens at least once a month here.
