  We're here until regular time, but the afternoon activities are cancelled (I had 2 club meetings so I am PUMPED). I wish that they would just cancel tomorrow and get it over with. Obviously we are getting slammed. Just give in already.

  I know right!? I'm in NH so we already have a few inches on the ground. The roads are horrible. But damn gotta get those contract hours in. Grrr.

  LAMESAUCE! I just stepped out to have some bloodwork taken at a lab about 3 miles from our office, and the roads down here in Newport are already a nightmare, and likely to get worse. I'm pretty confident in my own driving skills in inclimate weather, it's just the other looney tunes I worry about out there. I told my boss that I'm leaving @ 330, and it was not up for debate. Take that, old man!

  Bummer.  Even my DH got to leave work at 1:30 today (although that's a 9 hour work day for him, so maybe it's not that generous after all).

  What possible reason could they have for keeping you until 2:30 when there are no students around and there are no faculty meetings previously scheduled?!? I mean, what purpose does that serve?!? It's not like you can't correct homework or devise a lesson plan at home; and if you're not contractually obligated to come in on a snow day, why would you be contractually obligated to stay when the kids are dismissed early?!?

  What is great is that a few teachers had to go cause their kids daycares were closing and they made them take a 1/2 a sick day. :P oh education.

  We still had our staff meeting...luckly it was kept short (1 hour instead of 1 1/2) but the roads were still awful!

  We got the same kind of message from HR -- basically saying "it's dangerous out there, so think about the safest way to commute home, but if you leave early use personal or vacation time."   At least they closed for tomorrow officially.
