Re: Wine Country Recs ?

  • The Wine Country is pretty big, are you guys going tasting in Sonoma, Napa, Healdsburg, Dry Creek, or Russian River area?

I could probably give you some recs if I knew exactly what area.  Also Jamie (Jamers...with some numbers) would be able to help  you out if you're friends with her on FB.

  • We will have a limo, and will probably be be around Rutherford St Helena calistoga, but can travel to as well, or build around the area of the Recs, everything is not at all set in stone yet.

  • I recommend Bouchon for every meal of the day. Snacks too.

  • We really liked Celedon and downtown Napa. It's a little pricey, but for a special occasion it's perfect.

ETA. We stayed at the Inn on First and it was super romantic and nice. The owners were amazing. Highly recommend it!

  • We loved the one night we spent in Calistoga. Such a cute little town and everything within walking distance. I'm not sure I would recommend our hotel though (Dr. Wilkinson's somethingerother hot baths or something...). Wasn't bad, just retro in an unattractive way, though the hot mineral pool was nice.
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

  • Since I lived there I have a hard time recommending places to stay since I never stayed anywhere.

But my favorite place to have brunch is Gillwoods on Main Street in St. Helena.

  • Not sure what your price range is, but you could kill two birds with one stone by staying at Meadowood Resort and having brunch at "The Grill" which is at their resort. I've eaten at The Grill, but never stayed at the resort, but I've only heart amazing things about it.
