So, most of you know I got laid off the first week of January. I've sent my resume to over 100 places and gotten 2 interviews, neither of which progressed beyond that (one for sure and the other I'm pretty sure aren't going to call back.)
Last week I went to lunch with my former editor and she told me she was quitting, giving her notice for April. She was going to suggest to the owner that he hire me back since I was the most qualified and experienced already, and wouldn't need training, etc. to know the publications and workload.
After thinking about it, I decided that if he asked me to come back I definitely would. I figured that this was the master "plan" and I had been laid off so that I could come back in a bigger and better capacity and show them what I was really worth.
Well, she told him Monday... and no call still. So I emailed her and he didn't even take her suggestion into consideration. Period. I know I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up to begin with, but I"m devastated... again.
No need to respond, I'm just going to call a wahhmbulance and have a good cry.
ETA: And you know, as soon as I start my little party... Aflac calls and asks me for a second interview!!!! WAHOO!!! Omg I could scream right now I'm so happy. I guess now I'll just have a pity moment, not a full party :O)
Re: Pity party (edited)
I'm sorry
I'll cross my fingers that you find something soon. My hubby found a job after looking for about 4 and a half months. He just got his first paycheque on Friday, and man did it feel good! Keep your chin up and something good will come your way for sure.
Man, that sucks. I'm sorry. Something better WILL come up. You know your worth.
I did LOL at the "whambulance" reference. I use that one all the time. It's one of my favs!
