Hey Ladies, I wanted to send a quick message about a dog that is in desperate need of a home!
My good friend works for the Humane Society and obviously encounters many dogs in need of good homes, but she sent me a message last night, saying that this guy is special. He is a 1 yr. old white German Shepherd who came in as a stray and severely underweight. Because he was starving when he came in, he didn't pass the food bowl test, and is therefore the humane society won't adopt him out, because he is a liability. He passed the dog test, and from what my friend tells me, if someone is willing to work with him on trust, he will be your best friend. She has described him as a very sweeet and loving dog. He is scheduled to be euthanized on Friday.
DH and I have agreed to take him in as a foster if she hasn't found a home for him by Friday. Does anyone know of a good home for this boy?? I am going to meet him today, and can post more about my impressions and can also post a picture. (I saw one picture already, and he is a very handsome dog). I know that I can't save them all, but I want this guy to have a second chance.
If you, or anyone you know might be interested, please PM me, and I can give you more info.
Re: Animal Rescue Ladies Come In....
I'm glad you are able to help him. I love GSDs.
If you are able to foster the dog, maybe you can find a rescue who would be willing to list him for you. I used to foster with Per Haven, and they would do this.
