I am so pissed right now
So, it's happened - I'm sick. Ever since Lily has been born, I keep asking MH "what are we going to do when I get sick?" And he just says "I'll take time off work" or "we'll fly my mom in to help." When I mention hiring a mother's helper, he gets mad and says we can't afford it (yet, he wants to take 2-3 vacations a year).
Well, Lily has been sick, and I started coughing up junk yesterday, and today I am still coughing, my whole body aches, I'm dizzy, I'm tired, and I'm short of breath. And Lily SCREAMS unless I hold her and walk around in circles. So I called MH this morning practically in tears asking him to come home so I can do a breathing treatment and rest. His response, "well, I have a brown bag at lunch, so I can't come home for a few hours." Meanwhile, I made a doctor appointment for Lily and I kept feeling worse and worse.
By the time MH got home, I asked him if he could please take Lily to the doctor because I haven't been able to rest at all today and I feel awful. He got annoyed and said, "Well, that means i have to do work later and you have to watch her." Right, so his job is coming before my health.
And, when I mentioned I wanted to hire a mother's helper for the next two days, he said, "how about you take care of lily in the morning and i come home from work and watch her in the afternoon?" So, the vacation fund is more important to him than my health.
I even reminded him that the reason my CF is so mild is because I've always taken good care of myself, and now I wasn't being allowed to do that. Does he say something like, "You health is important and we'll do what we need to get you help?" No, he just got all pissy with me and was like "I'm going to take her to the doctor for you!" And then, when I finally got to sit down on the couch and he said, "I need you to put her hat on her" I got annoyed and was like "I just want to REST" so he left without saying a word to me.

Take care of yourself and I guess, based on all the good advice I got today, just tell him - YOU ARE DOING THIS. PERIOD. If he doesn't come through, hire a helper.
I say this as my effing husband is asleep on the couch- AGAIN!
Clearly, the "insensitive dink" virus is going around the menfolk as rapidly as the head/chest/stomach bugs are going around the women and children!
Does he not get that CF is a serious condition?!? Did he not get the memo?
I'm so sorry you're not feeling well and then have to deal with Mr. NotHelpful McDinkypants on top of it all! Time to move back to Maine so we can all pitch in and help!

Exactly! I hope you are getting some rest and that Lilly's medication is helping her feel better. Remember that you need to put your health first even if G forgets to.
