what would you do with it?
I think my husband and I would buy a house that we really wanted and buy things we need for our house such as couches, coffee tables, bedroom set, etc.
We would pay off all our bills (including school loans!) and pay off our cars. Then probably buy me a newer car and my husband would drive the one I have now.
I would go get my master's in music education.
We would probably take a nice trip or two.
And then put some money in bonds for our future children.
Your turn!
Re: If You had $1M...
Let's see...
1. pay off student loan, car, and cc...not that much but will be nice to be done with
2. Buy a house...nothing ridiculous but one that meets all our wants
3. Definitely a vacation!
4. Savings
1. pay off our debt
2. move to finland
3. buy a house
4. split the rest between savings and retirement fund (if we were in finland, we wouldn't need an education fund for the kids, woot!)
Students go to college for free in Finland?
1. pay off our debt
2. build in the country (okay so we're in the country now but in town, we'd like to have more privacy, although the town roads are nice in the winter)
3. donate to our local high school music departments
4. savings for our future
yes. even foreign students who aren't citizens. feel like getting a(nother) degree?

I would like to ammend my previous post and add MOVE TO FINLAND
1. Fancy-up the house
2. Pay bills/student loans, etc
3. Travel

TTC Since January 2011 - We have bad spermI would....
buy a fur coat (but not a real fur coat that's cruel)
buy some art (maybe a Picasso or a Garfunkel)
buy an exotic pet (like a llama or an emu)
and I would still eat Kraft dinners!
J/K but how could I not respond with that to a post titled "If You had a million dollars?"
I would pay off our house and renovate. I would pay off our debt. I would save the rest since we plan on sending our kids to private school and that would take the rest of it I'm sure!
Megan & Chris
Get a new car (nothing fancy, just new)
Take an awesome vacation
Buy new clothes (I have had the same wardrobe for yeaaars now, I never treat myself)
Put the rest in savings!
1. Pay off DH's student loans
2. Buy me a new car
3. Take a few vacations
4. Put the rest into investments and savings for our kids and retirement.
1) buy a house
2) buy DH a new car
3) saving
4) prolly donate a chunk of it as well
5) but a pair of jimmy choo's. Its a strange goal of mine to buy a pair one day.
1. pay off our mortgage...and do the addition of our dreams on our house...
2. pay off my brothers house and my dads house
Put the rest away for a rainy day.....just not having a mortgage would free up a ton of money!!
same as most of you
1. pay off all our debts
2. buy DH a new car
3. buy a house
4. pay off DH's mom's house
5. travel
6. move to Finland for a few years and get my Master's
or do it here
7.buy some new furniture and clothes (I never spend money on clothes either)
8. savings for kids and retirement
$100,000 I would give to Charity (Both for moral reasons and for tax purposes)
$300,000 I would split between our parents.
$100,000 would get put away for Timmy's college education
The rest would go toward buying a house and starting a business. I've always wanted to open a laundromat.. It sounds lame, but it's pretty low maintenance, and we would have a constant flow of customers. The merchandise that would be sold are all non perishable items, mostly soap and laudry bags. Also, no matter how bad the economy gets, people still wash their clothes.
