**Anyone vacation in the 1000 islands?**
we are thing about taking a trip up there this summer...I have been researching a bit but nothing is jumping out at me...anyone been? rec's on places to stay or what to do would be helpful...

I still have family and friends in the nearby area and love to get up there and visit.
In Alexandria Bay the Riveredge Resort is supposed to be nice. I also really like Wellesley Island. A must do is the boat tour of the islands. So beautiful. For eats my favorite restaurant used to be Cavallarios

We go every July. DH has been going since he was a little kid. We actually stay on Black Lake, which is about a 20 minute drive to Alexandria Bay.

I can't really recommend a place to stay right in Alex Bay, but definintely take the boat over to Boldt Castle. I've also done a scenic tour of the river/islands and it's really beautiful!
