My dad just called to ask how to turn the ringer up on my mom's cell phone.

Ok, well maybe you don't think it's that funny but for those of us with non-tech advanced parents, I find it hilarious when he calls to ask those questions.

And I used to think computers were a fad, adn would go away. Like up to about 2004.

Years ago my mom and I were watching a movie that was subtitled. She kept turning up the volume though, saying she couldn't hear / understand what was going on. Um - Mom, it's written on the bottom of the screen. Idea

my MIL cannot answer her phone, she keeps hanging up on the person...at first I had H teach her...then we were on a trip together and she just handed him the phone to answer...once, it was his brother...he handed it back to her and she was talking on it upside down...we physically unable to control our laughter and tell her turn it over...she kept saying "I can't hear you" and we just laughed harder

That's so funny. Until my mom got a flip phone, she used to think to hang up she needed to hold the end button and ended up turning the whole phone off

My MIL calls my H to ask him to "fix the internet" every once in a while. The last time we went over and she was telling us she couldn't get on her email, but everything else worked. So we asked what was wrong. And she went on to put her name and password where the web address is and said, "See? It's not working." I was cracking up and trying not to show it so my H told her that she has to go to the hotmail home page first and THEN put in her username and password.

Then she told us that she had never done that before in her life and she used to access it the way she had been showing us. Mmmhmm. I was just dying.

For months my mom kept telling us her cell phone didn't work she needed a new one. My brother went over one day picked it up , TURNED it on and it was fine. It got turned off and my mom was pushing the wrong button to turn it back on so she thought it wasn't working.

My mom says I'm a genius every time I Google something for her. She says it wouldn't occur to her to search for anything on the internet. She doesn't use the internet unless she has a link or a specific web address.

I will grudgingly admit to carrying out the following online tasks on behalf of my non-techie mother: purchasing airline tickets, booking hotels, checking her e-mail, and transferring money between her accounts when she can't get to the bank. But hey, at least she can work her iPhone...for the most part.

my mil can work her phone but i do have a funny cell phone story: once she was on the phone with my sil and sil could hear her searching for something and mumbling about looking for something. sil asked her what she was looking for and she said her phone. umm, the one you are talking on?! mil has never lived that one down! haha

my mom was really loving the ask.com search engine. But she'd google it. one day we were talking and she told me about how she was googling ask and I started laughing and told her that she was using one search engine to find another search engine. She just uses Google now.

I had to chime in on this one. DH and I gave my Mom and Dad an old laptop we weren't using anymore. My Mom called me up one day telling me I think it's broken. It just doesn't turn on anymore. I asked her if it was connected to the charger. She got really quiet and told me I forgot I had to charge it. I laughed so hard.

My dad is just a good ol country boy, he learned to use the computer not too long ago and its halarious to watch him chicken peck on the computer. He is always on craigslist looking for cornpickers or something!

Also, I think it's funny when my dad answers his cell and somehow turns the speakerphone on, he doesn't know it and has to hold the phone 6 inches away from his ear! haha Dad!

My dad can barely use the computer but lately we've got him on facebook, well my mom's facebook and she gets so mad. He sits in the dark and uses his lighter in one hand to look at the keyboard and punches the keys one at a time with the other hand! hilarious. I ask him why he doesn't turn the light on and he says it's a waste of money to turn it on. Seeing my pops with a lighter trying to see the keys and typing one finger at a time, so funny!

When my dad got his first cell phone a few years ago, his number previously belonged to a Spanish-speaking family. He was constantly complaining about voicemessages in Spanish. Instead of calling the company to get a different number, he kept calling me to ask how to take the phone off Spanish-mode so he could understand his messages.
