How do you go about picking out your outfit for the day?
Do you just grab whatever appeals to you that morning?
Or...do you pick everything out the night before?
Is the weather always a factor?
Do you pick out one favorite piece and base the rest of your outfit around that?
What's the method to your madness?
GO!
Re: s/o fashion....
I just grab something, then accessorize around it.
Weather is usually a factor. Weather is too extreme here to ignore. Because I walk to work I am on a skirt strike until it hits 60.
Stand up for something you believe in.
LOL I don't blame you!!! It's nice that you can wear jeans when you want to though!!! I'd have so many more options if I could do that everyday!

How do you go about picking out your outfit for the day? ususally know what items I have in my closet that fit and I like to wear according to weather and go from there.
Or...do you pick everything out the night before? only when I travel is this planned ahead.
Is the weather always a factor? usually- now with pg, it makes more of a difference.
What's the method to your madness? I am pretty limited when it comes to pregnancy on what I can wear and cannot- I do have some great pregnancy clothes (thanks to Mark for that one). I do actually like my items currently. I need to accessorize more. I am terrible at it.
How do you go about picking out your outfit for the day? First I start with weather. Then try and find something that fits nowadays. Plus I don't get dressed up so it's easier for me.
Do you just grab whatever appeals to you that morning? Pretty much. I first decide jeans or leggings right now, then go from there.
Or...do you pick everything out the night before? Absolutely not.
Is the weather always a factor? Yes. Our weather here is notorious for how quickly it changes. Even in the summer etc. You must layer clothing here.
Do you pick out one favorite piece and base the rest of your outfit around that? Not necessarily a favorite but I start with usually the top layer, be it a cardigan or sweater, then work backwards.
What's the method to your madness? Currently- to find something that covers my protruding stomach. That's my main goal.
:Blog:
I normally base my work week clothing on a rotation of 2 days in work pants, 2 days in jeans(one casual Friday), 1 in a skirt.
How do you go about picking out your outfit for the day? I start with that formula, and pick a top and try to layer to make the outfit a bit more sophisticated. There will rarely be a day where I'm only wearing a t-shirt or just a plain knit top. I don't feel as dressy without it being a sweater or a top with some detailing. I'm in love with jackets, cardigans, and blazers. Each season, I try to find a pair of brown(or in the brown family) and black shoes that have a medium heel height. While I love high heels, I don't feel as comfortable in them in our office because people are much more conservative here.
Do you just grab whatever appeals to you that morning? I normally try to rotate looks. Not too much black per week, mix in some color or pattern, accessorize, etc.
Or...do you pick everything out the night before? Sometimes I'll visualize it the night before, but I'm normally a morning of person.
Is the weather always a factor? To a degree(no pun intended). Yesterday it was 1? outside when I left home. I was wearing a skirt and tights. So I wouldn't just walk out without tights. I like wearing weather/season appropriate clothing. I am waiting to wear this cardigan, because when I tried it on recently, it just screamed spring.
Do you pick out one favorite piece and base the rest of your outfit around that? Sometimes. Sometimes I'll want to wear a certain necklace and work from there. Other times I'm just kind of like, I want to wear color.

typically ill think about it the night before, but unless i have an important meeting or have to get up super early, i dont typically pull things out of the closet/try stuff on the night before.
i normally pick a top or pant that i want to wear and work around it.
weather isnt normally a factor for me, except on days when its icy/snowing i try to wear sneakers or uggs. something flat that will minimize me slipping and falling on my asss.
Smo, we are kinda similar in the way we pick out outfits!
How do you go about picking out your outfit for the day?: I check the weather first...if it's raining I try to avoid wearing things like suede shoes. If it's super cold...I wear more layers, etc. If I wore lots of black one day....the next day I will try not to do the same. After that, picking out my outfit could stem from any number of things...see below!
Do you just grab whatever appeals to you that morning?: Not usually...keep reading!
Or...do you pick everything out the night before?: I pretty much have to! I like to mix up my outfits alot and I always try to come up with new combinations...so that means I usually have to try several things on before getting it just right. I basically try to pick everything out the night before, including accessories. I'm not a morning person, so to pick out an outfit in the morning would not be a good situation for me. Sometimes this happens and it usually leads to clothes and shoes strewn about the bedroom and me rushing around like a crazy person.
Is the weather always a factor?: Sort of but not too much. I only have to walk 5 steps to my car in the driveway and we have garage parking at work...so I really don't have to factor in the weather to a great extent. I usually eat lunch at my desk too, so I'm really a hermit most of the day.
Do you pick out one favorite piece and base the rest of your outfit around that?: Sometimes I will know that I want to wear a specific top or shoe, so in that case I would base my outfit around that piece.
What's the method to your madness?: All of the above!

Do you just grab whatever appeals to you that morning? - I usually think about it the night before, but yeah, whatever appeals to me and whatever is clean.
Or...do you pick everything out the night before? - I think about it but I don't commit.
Is the weather always a factor? - Definitely. I always watch the news in the morning to gauge how I need to dress.
Do you pick out one favorite piece and base the rest of your outfit around that? - Nah.
What's the method to your madness? - How long can I get away with not having to do laundry?
How do you go about picking out your outfit for the day? it all centers on how fat I feel- like if I can wear certain pants with a slimmer top or if I need a looser top. I should buy new clothes, but I can't afford it right now, and I'm working hard to get back to where I was this summer.
Do you just grab whatever appeals to you that morning? pretty much. sometimes I'll get dressed, eat breakfast, and then change if I'm not comfortable.
Or...do you pick everything out the night before? sometimes I do, like if I have something special the next day I want to look nice for.
Is the weather always a factor? usually, some of my tops aren't warm enough for work, and I'm restricted in the shoes I wear because of the snow (and I'm not one to wear one pair and change into a nicer pair once I get there- if I worked where attire mattered I might).
Do you pick out one favorite piece and base the rest of your outfit around that? I generally base the outfit around the shirt.
What's the method to your madness? it's all about my weight. Hopefully it'll start going down soon, I'm still in that lag period where exercise isn't doing anything yet.
I always start with the weather. I have to hike across a parking lot to get to my building, and I'm often out running around throughout the day, so weather is important. I usually check what they weather will be like before i jump in the shower, then think about my options while I'm in the shower. Weird, I know, but it cuts down on time staring in my closet!
What day it is often dictates things as well, especially shoes. Like Monday and Wednesday are my 10 hour days, so I stick to shorter heels. Therefore the outfit has to match one of my like 3 pairs of shorter heels. Sometimes I pick solely based on the shoes I really feel like wearing.....
I also try to keep variety. Almost everything in my wardrobe is black, gray, some shade of blue, red, or purple. So I try not to wear red like three days in a row.
That's about the extent of it...
I usually just grab something that morning, but if I'm feeling ambitious I will pick it out the night before. It truly depends on how late I feel like sleeping. An extra 15 minutes to have my clothes picked out? Sure.
Weather is usually a factor, at least in the winter months. Like yesterday started off at 50 degrees and ended up at 25. So I wore a huge sweater...even though I was hot in the morning, I was better off than my coworkers who took advantage of the warm morning when we all left that afternoon.
I don't have favorite pieces. I'm sorta fashion-illiterate. I just grab what I think looks okay. There is no pairing/accessorizing. There are days I even forget jewelry and make-up. *hangs head in fashion shame*
I usually start with one piece, just whatever feels exciting that day. Sometimes it's for a reason, like Tuesday it was rainy so I wanted to wear boots, today it's freezing so a scarf seemed like a good idea. Then, I just piece together an outfit around that piece. I can only wear jeans on Fridays, so the rest of the week I try to switch it up between slacks and dresses/skirts. I never plan outfits in advance, unless it's like Hat Day or something. Everything else gets picked out 10 minutes before I leave. I work best on a tight deadline. ;-)
