Re: BOTB
1st trimester: Are you having any aversion to foods you used to like? The smell of eggs grossed me out. Also, raw chicken or meat of any kind repulsed me.
2nd trimester: If you?re having a boy, has the decision to circumcise or not caused any friction in your house or are you and your partner on the same page? We were totally on the same page. For religious reasons it was pretty much pre-determined.
First days: If you BF, how long did it take for your milk to come in? If it took more than a few days, did you hire an LC? If so, and you liked her, please rec your LC. It took a good 5 or 6 days until my milk really came in....I met with the LC's at the hospital every day we were there...and I pumped like a mad woman. I think all that pumping and those long feedings with LO created an oversupply issue and I ended up being able to create a stockpile that I appreciated
I only ever charted my CM, not height or openness. I felt like it was very effective in determining my O date.
1st trimester: Are you having any aversion to foods you used to like? What are you craving right now?
I used to eat Greek yogurt every single day, and couldn't wait. It's not a complete aversion to me, but it's not my favorite anymore. Chicken is disgusting to me. I can't get enough cereal - specifically frosted shredded wheat and lucky charms. Oooh, TOTAL aversion to all things chocolate. Blech. Lately, I've been craving peaches & cream instant oatmeal. Oh, and apple cider (I think this is in response to not drinking as much of other hot beverages I used to enjoy more often - namely coffee).
2nd trimester: If you?re having a boy, has the decision to circumcise or not caused any friction in your house or are you and your partner on the same page?
Not 2nd tri yet, but team green and 100% on the same page about circumcision if baby is a boy.
Updates:
11 weeks tomorrow, and I have my first midwife appt tomorrow, and will hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time (only saw it last time, at 8 weeks). Also, our NT scan is next Wednesday, and after that I'll be able to tell work and spread the news to our friends...very excited for that
1st trimester: Are you having any aversion to foods you used to like? What are you craving right now? Last time, the only thing I ever craved was peanut butter and I didn't have any aversions. This time all I can think about is macaroni salad and I can't stand the thought of eggs.
2nd trimester: If you?re having a boy, has the decision to circumcise or not caused any friction in your house or are you and your partner on the same page? We don't know the sex of this one yet, but were were on the same page with DS and I assume it will be the same this time if it's a boy.
L&D: Did you videotape the birth? If so, have you watched it?no videotape.
First days: If you BF, how long did it take for your milk to come in? If it took more than a few days, did you hire an LC? If so, and you liked her, please rec your LC. I think my milk came in the day we came home from the hospital...or the next day...so 2-3 days.

1st trimester: Are you having any aversion to foods you used to like? What are you craving right now? I gag every time I eat broccoli, which is weird for me. I also have trouble eating brussels sprouts and ranch dressing. Lately I have been craving chocolate in cake, cookie or brownie form, but my initial cravings were tater tots and spaghetti-os.
2nd trimester: If you?re having a boy, has the decision to circumcise or not caused any friction in your house or are you and your partner on the same page? We are so not on the same page for this. If we have a boy, DH wants to circ and I don't. I am sure this will be a battle in the hospital if we do have a boy, but I have several people and research to back up my non-circ decision.
Updates: Our countdown is into double digits. Yikes!
TTC: Do you chart your cervical data (height, openness, mucus)? Do you find it helpful for pinning down your ovulation date?
Didn't chart cervical data. Just did temps (whenever I remembered to take my temp) and mentally noted the appearance of CM when it was there.
1st trimester: Are you having any aversion to foods you used to like? What are you craving right now?
Since the beginning, I craved salt, specifically potato chips. And the occasional Cinnabon. As for aversions, I could not stand the smell of sauteeing garlic and onions, so I couldn't cook a whole lot during the 1st tri, but I was back in the kitchen by Week 14. I also did not like the smell of the roasting turkey at Thanksgiving. My poor husband had to cook Thanksgiving dinner by himself.
2nd trimester: If you?re having a boy, has the decision to circumcise or not caused any friction in your house or are you and your partner on the same page?
N/A because we're having a girl. Holla for Team Sparkles!!
Updates:
Halfway baked today!! Sister is starting to talk about baby shower stuff, which is truly exciting and terrifying to me.
ETA: Forgot the TTC portion.
TTC: Do you chart your cervical data (height, openness, mucus)? Do you find it helpful for pinning down your ovulation date? While TTC I did chart. I did find it helpful because I knew when I was ovulating.
1st trimester: Are you having any aversion to foods you used to like? What are you craving right now? I haven't really had any foor aversions. Right now I can not get enough fruit. We just got a huge bag of oranges and I think I have eaten most of them.
2nd trimester: If you?re having a boy, has the decision to circumcise or not caused any friction in your house or are you and your partner on the same page? We don't find out the sex of the babies intil the 18th. We have not really discussed what we will do.
Updates: Everything is going well. I have some back pain that is new but I am working on some exercises to help with that.
1st trimester: Are you having any aversion to foods you used to like? What are you craving right now? No aversions, but I have always had a craving for cereal since I was pregnant.
2nd trimester: If you?re having a boy, has the decision to circumcise or not caused any friction in your house or are you and your partner on the same page? We discussed if we were to have a boy, how we felt about circumcision. We were on the same page.
3rd trimester: How many times a night do you get up to pee? Think of this as practice for getting up to feed the baby
Pretty much once a night. I count myself lucky.
TTC: Do you chart your cervical data (height, openness, mucus)? Do you find it helpful for pinning down your ovulation date? I charted mucus, tried to chart height and openness but wasn't successful
1st trimester: Are you having any aversion to foods you used to like? What are you craving right now? I pretty much had an aversion to all foods from week 6 to week 14. I had to force myself to eat, mostly salads and fruit were all I could get down, and I craved soup, but it was summer so I didn't have much.
2nd trimester: If you?re having a boy, has the decision to circumcise or not caused any friction in your house or are you and your partner on the same page?
3rd trimester: How many times a night do you get up to pee? Think of this as practice for getting up to feed the baby
I was not a frequent pee-er. So weird! At most, it was once a night, but the need to pee is never what woke me up, it was always something else.
L&D: Did you videotape the birth? If so, have you watched it? No, but thanks to our doula we have lots of photos from inside the OR, which I appreciate. I have looked at them, but sometimes its hard for me to look at them.
First days: If you BF, how long did it take for your milk to come in? If it took more than a few days, did you hire an LC? If so, and you liked her, please rec your LC. She was born Sunday am, milk came in Thursday night. I did see the LCs all 3 days I was in the hospital and was planning to hire an LC if she wasn't gaining weight appropriately. I may still hire an LC in the coming weeks to figure out pumping/bottle-feeding/going back to work. I plan to use the LCs through Herself Moms up in Roseville b/c I trust the owner

Up next! Woot!
TTC: Do you chart your cervical data (height, openness, mucus)? Do you find it helpful for pinning down your ovulation date? I tried to chart CM, but it rarely changed. But the fact that I even knew that I should look for a change was what prompted us to use Pre-Seed, which I still attribute to my BFP.
1st trimester: Are you having any aversion to foods you used to like? What are you craving right now? I had not an aversion, but an indifference to chocolate, which was odd for me! I really wasn't interested in many sweets, and didn't eat chocolate for about 3 months. But I was majorly into salty and greasy foods instead.
2nd trimester: If you?re having a boy, has the decision to circumcise or not caused any friction in your house or are you and your partner on the same page? We are having a girl, but have already decided we won't circumcise a boy if we do have one.
3rd trimester: How many times a night do you get up to pee? Think of this as practice for getting up to feed the baby
Zero! I don't get up in the middle of the night. I'm counting my blessings on that one.
Updates: I had my 36 week appt. yesterday and the baby is head down! I'm not dilated yet, but my ob still thinks the baby might make an early arrival. My second (and last) baby shower is this weekend, and once we have everything else from the registry, we'll pretty much be done preparing. My last day of work is TOMORROW!!!

TTC: Do you chart your cervical data (height, openness, mucus)? Do you find it helpful for pinning down your ovulation date?
I only look at CM not the other stuff. This is only my second cycle off BCP so I'm hoping to see some regularity with temps and CM and not have to check the other things.
Josephina Pavelski FTW!!!!
1st trimester: Are you having any aversion to foods you used to like? What are you craving right now? i had no particular food aversions, nor any cravings.
2nd trimester: If you?re having a boy, has the decision to circumcise or not caused any friction in your house or are you and your partner on the same page? we are team green, but we did discuss circumcision if our LO is a boy. since circumcision is not a common practice here in NZ, we will not be doing it. i would rather not have a botched job.
3rd trimester: How many times a night do you get up to pee? Think of this as practice for getting up to feed the baby
anywhere between 2-5 times/night.
L&D: Did you videotape the birth? If so, have you watched it? i will not be videotaping the birth of our child.
TTC: Do you chart your cervical data (height, openness, mucus)? Do you find it helpful for pinning down your ovulation date?
Did not chart.
1st trimester: Are you having any aversion to foods you used to like? What are you craving right now?
I had aversions to just about everything. I was prepared for "morning sickness" and a once-a-day toilet visit, but I was not prepared for the 24/7 nausea. I couldn't think of food, let alone open the fridge/pantry, without gagging. Thank goodness it only lasted the first trimester.
2nd trimester: If you?re having a boy, has the decision to circumcise or not caused any friction in your house or are you and your partner on the same page?
We're having a girl, but we are both on the same page with our decision on whether or not to circumcise.
3rd trimester: How many times a night do you get up to pee? Think of this as practice for getting up to feed the baby
Once (rarely twice if I drank a lot before bed). I was a camel before, so once a night is a big deal for me. Every once in a while I will be so exhausted that I will be crashed out for the night and not make any trips, but this is rare now. I need the practice... I am really going to miss sleep!
TTC: Do you chart your cervical data (height, openness, mucus)? Do you find it helpful for pinning down your ovulation date?
Yes. I chart waking temperature and mucus. I use an app on my droid to help with this. I find the mucus is the most helpful. It was hard at first to tell the difference between creamy and eggwhite at first, but now it's pretty easy.
Celyn, you are amazing. Have you been doing these BOTB posts for all this time? I remember you doing this when I was pg. And I just registered Fudgie for Kinder!! Thanks for doing this, it adds so much to the boards. So, for kicks and a trip down memory lane, I'll answer too
TTC: I did not chart
1st: No real aversions and no real cravings but I did drink milk like crazy. I guess that was my only real craving and even then it wasn't like 'man, I want it now!' it was more like, 'milk sounds good'.
2nd: I thought about not circumcising but when I asked dh he said he wanted to. I could see it was clear to him and since I was so-so on the issue, I went with his opinion. It was clear he had a stronger opinion than I and there was a part of me that felt like it was a male issue and he had more insight than I
So, we circumcised.
3rd: pee...only a few but I woke up all the time reaching for the tums! I had heartburn a lot in the end.
L&D: no video, no photos.
My milk came in about 48 hrs after delivery...and it came with a vengance!
Good luck to everyone & enjoy!

TTC: Do you chart your cervical data (height, openness, mucus)? Do you find it helpful for pinning down your ovulation date?
I didn't chart cervical data consistenly but it did seem to make things that much clearer when I did.
1st trimester: Are you having any aversion to foods you used to like? What are you craving right now? I really didn't like veggies my first tri, it was work to get them down. Normally I love salads and vegetables. I had some intense sour cravings which wasn't normal for me. Lemonade, oranges, sour candy, you name it. Supposedly that means I'm having a boy...
2nd trimester: If you?re having a boy, has the decision to circumcise or not caused any friction in your house or are you and your partner on the same page? We haven't discussed this yet. I don't see it as being a problem but maybe I better ask and find out! There's still a 50/50 chance that we won't have to discuss it anyways :-)
