Hey WW ladies! I had to do my first week weigh yesterday. (1 week on the program). I think my scale is broken. It said I lost 9 pounds in the first week. I went with it, completely skeptical. For good measures I weighed again this morning. The only thing different than when I weighed myself yesterday was the day I was doing it. Same location, same scale, same clothing, etc. This time it said I had lost only 6 pounds from starting.
I don't think I would have gained 3 pounds since yesterday morning, but I don't think I could have lost 6-9 pounds in the first week either. I'm thinking I must have lost something, but the total is up in the air right now. As soon as I get extra $, I'll be getting a new scale.
I did however, try a new recipe. Hubby completely turned his nose up at it, but I enjoyed it. It was only 5 points per serving after I made it. I had found a recipe on the website and then modified it.
Here is the recipe after my changes. http://www.weightwatchers.com/util/prt/recipe.aspx?Type=1&RecipeID=232187520
You ladies have any new recipes you tried?

Hi - my weight was the same as last week no gain and no loss
. I should probably be more self conscious of sodium intake on Sundays since my WI at home is on Monday mornings. Been earning plenty of activity points since I run a few times per week (although I think their points are far too high but whatever). I have noticed that my sweet tooth cravings have taken a back seat for the time being, which is good since I've been stressed lately with this whole house buying thing.
Last night, made some scallops with light alfredo sauce and whole wheat noodles. James was disappointed that it wasn't chicken or beef but he gobbled it up.
If any of you have the cookbook, Take Out Tonight, they have baked chimichangas (aka baked burritos) and they are really good! I need to get some recipes from their site though, I heart my crockpot too.
IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.
I weighed myself yesterday and I'm down 2 lbs. Woohoo! I've been on it (second time around) for about a week already and I'm not having a hard time sticking to it. I'm so proud of myself. This is a doable program I just had to give up all the bad food and be determined to stick to it.
Last night I made a stirfry like the Beef & Broccoli recipe. I used beef and frozen veggies, and it wasn't the same. It was still good but not as good as if I would have used fresh veggies, but I was too lazy to go the store so I had to make due.
Also, I did my first run yesterday! 35 minutes total, 10 minutes of it was walking but it felt great. I'll be ready for a 5k in no time. BTW I'm doinng the C25K program but I cheated yesterday and ran more than the schedule called for.
Jen- Now I really want to make that mac n' cheese. I think I'll make it tomorrow night.
yay for all of us!!! Sounds like everyone is working it and making it work for them!
Yes, the mac n cheese is awesome!!! I'm having left overs of it today.
I've found, that even when I think I have slipped and I don't want to log what I ate in (b/c it's bad!!) I still need to. And a lot of the time, the points aren't as bad as I thought.
Last week, I did end up using a couple of the extra points for 2 of the days, but it was ok in the end! As long as I'm not going overboard, it works!
This exactly. Logging everything helps you keep things in check and helps you realize just what you are eating and how bad or good it may be.
Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo (Healthy Version)
Really healthy and tasty. Can't tell it's "healthy" except for the fact that it's not ungodly heavy.
- season and cook the chicken the way you like it
- either boil or sautee the broccoli
- use the instructions to cook the whole week pasta
Alfredo Sauce
-1/2 of califlower puree
-2 tablespoons of non-fat margarine
-2 cloves of garlic
-2 tablespoons of whole-wheat flour
-1 cup of non-fat milk
-2/3 cup of part skim mozzerella or sharp cheddar cheese
-1/4 parmesean
-1/4 tsp. pepper
-1/2 tsp of salt (the recipe says 1/4 but I thought it was a little bland)
-1/4 tsp. of sweet paprika
Steam the califlower for 8-10 mins and puree it.
Mince the garlic and in a medium pan add the margarine and cook the garlic until it's fragrant but not brown. Add in the flour and mash it into the butter until it's a paste.
Add milk in 1/4 of a cup at a time and wisk until the milk is absorbed and a creamy sauce starts to form. Let the sauce slowly boil and whisk for one more min.
Add the puree, parmasean, and mozzerella and mix.
Add in the salt, pepper, and paprika and mix.
Add in the chicken, broccoli, and pasta to coat everything. If the sauce is too thick add in some of the reserved pasta water.
Enjoy!!
Sounds yummy!!! Thanks!
