I just got a call from a customer named Ms. Bitchy McBitcherson.
I am the only one in the office today and have been anwering phones by myself. I went upstairs to heat up my Healthy Choice meal. The phone rings so I answer it (we have a phone in the break room). It's a customer looking for parts. I tell her that I'm not at my desk if she can hold while I go down to my desk. She says "all right" but with a bitchy tone. What?!?! Don't take that tone with me sista...so, I hung up on her. She called back and I told her "I'm sorry but I must have hung up on you by accident." She pissed me off, Ms. Bitchy McBitcherson!

Re: Bitchy McBitcherson
i wouldn't have had the guts to hang up on her, honestly. i get spoken too pretty badly on the phone on a way too regular basis, but i just shrug it off.
i dont have anything to b!tch about at the moment...
we have friends coming over for dinner tonight (steak and baked potatoes) and i have to rush home and pick up because i had zero energy to do it last night after we rearranged our living room furniture.
Normally I wouldn't but I have had it with customers this week. First, was the guy telling me to f**k off via email, and then the one asking me if "I had learned anything from this" like I'm a freaking toddler. I had a moment today.
That does take some balls to hang up on her! Funny.
A guy at work here hung up on a woman who called him "dense," later explaining to a co-worker that he didn't know what it meant, but figured it was bad.
um....lmao??
Deb - I used to work in a call center for a theme park during college and when transferring a person (who was bitchy mcbitcherson) yeah we'd hang up on them. Nine times out of ten, we'd speak with them again when they called back and they never knew. We always blamed it on the phone system. You do what you gotta do!
Honestly, that sucks. I am polite on the phone 90% of the time, and the rest of the time I'm more direct (but not biitchy) because I've been getting shiity customer service in previous phone conversations. Even if I was being truly biitchy - if part of your job is to work the phones, you know that some customers are difficult, and hanging up on them isn't really the best way to handle it.
