First time coming to San Francisco

We are coming to San Francisco in April and online I've narrowed down some options for 3 nights and airfare for these hotels.  Is that a good deal and where would you recommend staying?

Hilton San Francisco Union Square ($538/person)

Hotel Carlton Union Square ($475/person)

Parc 55 Wyndham Union Square ($507/person)

Hilton Fishermans Wharf ($555/person)

Intercontential San Francisco ($552/person)

Re: First time coming to San Francisco

  • It's been a long time since I've stayed in a hotel in SF but those prices seem ridiculously high to me.  For that money, you could probably stay at the St. Francis or the Fairmont, and get a taste of SF history, instead of at a Hilton, which all look the same no matter what country you're in.  Did you check out TripAdvisor?

I think she's saying they include airfare.  In that case, I don't think they're bad at all.  I agree though, the reviews on tripadvisor are always good.
  • What does it cost for just the flight?  I'd probably buy plane tickets and then try to get a hotel through Priceline where you can normally get some really good deals.  I woulld suggest doing 4 stars and above in Union Square East (don't do West) in your Priceline search.
  • Yes that includes airfare ($426 for the flight)
  • Definitely stay in Union Square.  I'm not a fan of the Hilton there though and have stayed there several times forwork.  Out of that list, I would probably go with the Intercontinental or Parc 55, but I don't really know the Hotel Carlton.  Ditto checking TripAdvisor reviews.
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball
